In addition to being huge fans of flats and slip-ons, we love us some tees! And we try and bring you the sweetest ones we can find. Diggin’ this OBEY tee? We totally are! What’s better than a comfy political statement? Not much. Check out more tees here. And, check out this gun-shaped single-flower vase by the always tongue-in-cheek Suck UK. We likes our art interactive, ironic and multi-purpose! And if it matches our outfit? Even better!

First we mourned the recent passing of fashion legend Gianfranco Ferre. Now we shed a fashionista tear for Liz Claiborne, a woman who made her mark by making working women feel more powerful and beautiful with her conservative yet feminine professional attire. Founded in 1976, her company became one of the most successful fashion empires, counting Ellen Tracy, Dana Buchman, Laundry, Juicy Couture, Lucky Brand, and Narciso Rodriguez as their brands. And let’s not forget about her cosmetics empire, which will be “Usher”-ing a new star powered line very soon. She was 78.

Unfortunately, the word rehab is synonymous with a lot of our young celebs today (Lindsay, Brit, etc., etc.); but, not everything associated with rehab and recovery is a bad thing. It’s meant to help… hopefully. Anyway, surely you saw pix of Lindsay when she was wearing that AA chip around her neck or the chips hanging from her rearview mirrow here; well, our good friend Akiko pointed us in the direction of a new take on these chips. Jewelry designer Caroline Freedman decided to cast a friend’s AA chip in silver. People ended up responding so well to the new design that Caroline continued to make the silver chips and now you purchase them here.
We’re certain we know one celeb who definitely WOULDN’T be interested… Oh, Amy!

We hit the jackpot this week when we stumbled upon Niklas, a cutie on vacay from Germany. After he finished enchanting us with his baby blue eyes, we asked him for his style report.
Hails from: Germany
Rocking: “Blue Chucks, a shirt by Jack & Jones and my vest is from H&M.”
Describes Style: “Casual.”
Favorite Brands: “Boss Orange and Jack & Jones.”
Style Inspirations: “Justin Timberlake and the German band, MIA.”
What we love about Niklas: The question is what don’t we love about him? He did a perfect job of highlighting his gorgeous eye color with his blue pieces (his jeans, tie, shirt and adorable vest!).
Sadly, there is no Jack & Jones in the states.

Summer is always a slow time for sports. (Sorry baseball fans). So what are we to do until the action packed fall season rolls around? Play. That’s what. And no, not just by going outside and getting all sweaty and get bit by bugs. You can now “play” (well, we suggest that you collect them instead) with the best athletes in the world. Master toy designer Michael Lau linked up with Nike to create 20″ figures of three of the best jocks to ever to play their respective sports: soccer player Ronaldinho, basketball player Kobe Bryant, and tennis player Roger Fedderer. Don’t get too excited, they are not for sale but will be auctioned off in Hong Kong for a charity. Pretty fresh but where’s Tiger, yo?

If you’ve been reading this blog for a while, you probably know by now that we’re ga ga (not to be confused with the awesome yet inexplicably named new Spoon album, “Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga”) for flats and slip-ons. And we’re super in hearts with just about any apparel with a DIY touch. So, really, that means there’s nothing for us NOT to love about these amazing Species By The Thousands slip-ons. Each OOAK (that’s one-of-a-kind for you non-Internerds) pair is hand painted on vintage fabric by mucho talented Brooklyn artists Erica Bradbury and Michele Colomer. And each pair features the duo’s trademark environmental images, all of which have a creepy-cool theme going on. And while they definitely like to incorporate skulls and snakes and other symbols frequently found on rock apparel (and on this blog), we like that their designs are less whimsical and more ominous and foreboding, if you will. And we love that their ’70s-inspired images aren’t super cheesy (even though there’s definitely a time and place for that too.)
The shoes are $90 — slightly steep, but yo, they’re art! You can buy them — or their hand-painted jewelry and cool decorative wood plaques, all of which are also adorned with their interesting interpretations of nature — on their Website, speciesbythethousands.com.
Check out more of their work on their MySpace page — and why doncha “Friend” ‘em while you’re at it?

When buying something cute can potentially save, like the, world, you know you should pick it up. Aldo is once again joining the fight to end AIDS (remember their AIDS-awareness tote bag and dog tags?) The limited edition collection of Aldo Fights AIDS “Hear,”"See” and “Speak” pins can be purchased for only $2 each or $5 for the trio at their stores or on their website. 100% of the proceeds benefit YouthAIDS. And just in case you think your little $s won’t do anything, keep in mind that since 2005, Aldo has raised over $3.2 million for cause. So go and pin yourself.

Summer is here. Great weather. Cookouts. Skin. And bugs! Lots of them…especially flies. You’re too cool to run around the house with a swatter. That’s why you need the “Fly Catcher.” This electronic version of the Venus Flytrap catches bugs with a special goo that attracts them. Once they get in the area, sensor snap shut and let’s out a big burp. All you need is three AAA batteries and some of that extra “bait.” Now you can have your own “Little Shop of Horrors” without having to feed it yourself. It will cost you around $40.00.

Y’all, there are but a few days left til our favorite felon/amateur porn star/media, um… “magnet” P.Ho (Paris Hilton, if you din’t know) is released from the prison of what was basically her own design. We say keep her there! Drinking and driving is heinous. And if stars are “just like us,” well then they shouldn’t they go to jail just like regular people, and they shouldn’t they have to serve out their full sentences? (Although the sooner Paris gets out, the faster she can get back to being the subject of countless embarrassing photos, most of them drunken, and all of them basically awesome.)
Anyway, if you think Paris should stay in stripes, check out the above Tee by the awesome Neighborhoodies, who’ll put just about any saying you want on a Tee, tank or hoodie. This is one of their ready-made Tees, and it’s just $14.99 and comes in a buncha different colors. Check out more of their hilarity, specifically their “Rehab All-Stars” Tees that snarkily salute Brits and LaLo. (No word on if there’s an Amy Winehouse Tee planned.)
Oh yeah, and if you missed Sarah Silverman ripping Paris at the MTV Movie Awards, relive it here — it was one of the funniest moments of the entire show.
