So, have we talked enough Timbaland? We don't think so. He's nominated for two VMAs -- Most Earth-Shattering Collaboration for bringing "Sexy Back" with Justin (who we're seeing tonight and losing our s--- over) and Monster Single Of The Year for his late-comer hit, "The Way I Are," which also happens to be the latest video we're obsessed with. The video is super slick, yet the song isn't as flashy as most Tim tracks. It's just a stripped-down, laid back track with an absolutely hypnotic beat. But despite the song's straightforwardness, he's got plenty of back up.
First of all, Justin Timberlake lays claim to those background "Yea"s, if you couldn't tell. And the voice behind that mesmerizing hook is Keri Hilson, who's also a songwriter herself; she's written songs for Danity Kane, Jennifer Lopez, and The Pussycat Dolls. She also wrote Omarion's latest hit, "Ice Box." And if you're thinking she reminds you of Mary J. Blige, then that's prolly because she wrote "Take Me As I Am." Tim also brought in his very own brother, Sebastian (he's the one who looks, well, exactly like him), who drops a verse, and rapper D.O.E.'s featured in several versions of the song too. And, there are even a couple appearances by some hot British "football" (soccer), since the video was shot in England. But enough talk already. Watch the video if you haven't seen it. And tell us whatcha think: should this Mosley collabo be Monster Single Of The Year?
