You loved Nelly Furtado in pigtails and peasant skirts, and you KNOW you love her in plenty of eyeliner and stilettos. And you know we’re right there with you! But time was, back a few years ago, this Nelly was the first Nelly you thought of when ya hurd that name.

Ms. Furtado dropped the hippie-chick single “I’m Like A Bird” in 2000 and then seemingly flew away. But more than half a decade later, she shed her cute but stale boho-babe persona, cranked the hotness up to full-on sexpot mode and made an epic comeback, complete with a seriously sultry, sexy street sound. (Having Timbaland on her team didn’t hurt either.) Loose went 5x platinum — and counting(!!!) Now she’s responsible for some of the best mainstream dance-pop tracks in years (not even we are sick of “Maneater” or “Promiscuous Girl,” and we already done tol’ you how much we love “Do It.”)

And of course, she looks hotter than Hades, and she proved that not all moms wear Mom Jeans — uh, not in the least. Now Ms. Furtado’s the main Nelly in our game. So, it is any surprise that she’s nominated for a 2007 VMA for Female Artist Of The Year?… Or that she’ll be performing at the VMAs?

… OR…that she’s this week’s MTV Artist Of The Week? That’s right, we’re celebrating one of the hardest (and sexiest!) workin’ women in the game all this week.

I have recognized the talent in this woman ever since her debut Whoa Nelly! came out in 2000. That is and will remain one of the most influential albums for me. I was happy that she gained true commercial success with Loose, even if it was a break away from her very original sound, but she has come up with an album that still is her own, yet enjoyable to all. A great performer and someone who sticks to their values, Nelly deserves her current superstardom and has something to teach many other of today's current stars! We love our Nelstar!

I love Nelly Furtado. A few years ago my mom bought me my first CD. I was so happy. It was a Various Artists CD with 13 songs. My favourite number is 7 so I wanted to see which song will be number 7 and guess what - it was I'm like a bird. I really loved it though it wasn't that popular in my country(Bulgaria). Than last year when I was watching the news I saw a story about Nelly's new(than it was new) video "Maneater" about her comeback and all that... I was so happy :) I got the album as soon as it came to my country and I've not stopped playing it since then! I simply love Nelly Furtado and her music and I'm really glad that she's the artist of the week :)

Nelly is the greatest female singer ever! I don't care who wants to debate that!

She could get an erection out of Elton John she's so beautiful! I've stuck with her since 2000 when she was promoting Whoa Nelly and I've been through alot with her and she never ceases to amazing me and take my breath away I forever love her and would be a human shield for her in a nano second if it would be required.

I have to agree with Kyle. "Whoah Nelly" and "Folklore" made me love her work so much. It was original, different and inspirational. She has grown as an artist and her music is very contagious and loveable in my opinion.

Her boho presene was great. I wouldn't mind if she brought it back or tried to combine it with her new sound. I loved her since she first started. I don't think she's lost her old self but just rather building up. It's still there.

I would love if she performed in the VMA's with one of her old songs (I'm Like a Bird, Turn off the Light, On the Radio (Remember the Days), or Powerless) with her new ones. She can make it happen and make it timeless!

I must confess that I wasnâ€™t a very big fan of hers in the beginning. But then again when her first single came out I was only 12 or so. But when the â€œManeaterâ€ video came out, oh everything started to make sense. It was such a different Nelly Furtado, a catching one, a sexy but still cute, refreshed Nelly and we all loved it! She was amazing on that video. After that â€œPromiscuousâ€ and it kept on coming. Her CD Loose is one of the few that you can buy nowadays and here from beginning to end without wanting to skip any track causeâ€™ you like it less. All her songs are unique, you can dance to some (maneater), and cry yourself out while listening to others (all good things come to an end).

I was lucky enough o see her perform live in Cantanhede â€“ Portugal, a month ago. It was so freakinâ€™ cool!! Her vocals were amazing, and she had a great band and very good dancers. She is definitely one of the best singers Iâ€™ve ever seen live and would love to meet her one day! I am now a loyal and very devoted fan!

I saw her on June 1, 2007 in Atlanta, GA in Concert. It was simply amazing. Her vocals were DEAD on. She sounded amazing. I only expected for her to sing like 10 songs, and she sung over 20. The concert lasted forever, and I so got my monies worth. When she started to sing her single from Folklore "Try" it gave me chills. I can't wait until she tours again. Love her.

Nelly Furtado is one artist that never seem's to lose her playful non-stop postive energy in her music. All of her cd's are great and "Loose" even though a year old now is still my most played cd in my car lolz. It's the type of cd you can just turn up real loud and get lost in.

Nelly's "Get Loose Tour" was amazing to say the least! I got to see her first kick off concert in Hollywood Florida. Her vocals were filled with emotion and there wasn't a dry eye in the building as she song "Wait For You" Her voice is so powerful...she gave me the chills.

Nelly Furtado has been my favorite singer ever since i heard I'm like a bird driving to California. Her three albums are so different and amazing there are the 3 albums i can't live without. She sounds beautiful in any language. She know how to perform in & out the studio. I hope that she keeps making these amazing albums. From what i notice the longer the wait for the albums the better they sound.
