Ew. Total candy hangover. And it’s a hangover of the “fancy,” “alternative” Tootsie Roll fruit flavor variety, which is probably the worst kind there is. But, we still have a few treats left in our proverbial Buzzworthy blog bag … we have no idea what that means either…. Sooo, as if having the brand-new, completely HA-LARIOUS Foo Fighters video, “Long Road To Ruin,” in our hands today weren’t reason enough to wish every day was the day after Halloween, we also have an additional Foo-related treat for you.
Buzzworthy sent a Dave Grohl, who’s currently on tour, a few of our most pressing questions. He got back to us via BlackBerry from the road, and here’s what he had to say:
Buzzworthy: Hey, Dave. What are you doing at this exact moment?
Dave Grohl: Talking about getting high with Joss Stone.
(Note: It's unclear to us whether Dave meant he was theoretically discussing the idea of what it'd be like to get high with Joss Stone OR if she was there and Dave was actually offering. Joss, if you're reading this, please don't sue us. Kthnksbye. -- Eds.)
BW: Was making the video for "Long Road to Ruin" a long process?
DG: Yes. It was a three-day shoot. Which by video standards is long.
BW: Speaking of “ruin,” what have you ruined lately?
DG: Our health and reputation.
Thanks, Dave! And regarding that ruinous video, “Long Road To Ruin,” off Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace, well we just premiered it today. It stars the gorge, super foxy Rashida Jones (who looks eerily like Cathy Zeta Jones here) of The Office, and tons of glued-on facial hair, fake driving, and ridiculous amounts of slapstick shtick and absurd facial expressions, all of which the Foo Fighters nail every time. Seriously, as much as we loved their more somber turn in “The Pretender” video, we hold a special place in our hearts for their hysterical “Learn To Fly” video (we could watch Dave as “The Fat Lady” and “The Braided Fangirl” over and over and over), “Big Me” (AKA: “The Mentos Video”) and “Everlong” (“The Video Where The Legs Turn Into Logs.”) Oh, and "Long Road To Ruin" was directed by Jesse Peretz, who also directed "Big Me," and "Learn To Fly." And he was in The Lemonheads, which is awesome.
“The Road To Ruin” videos stars Dave as a washed-up ‘70s soap-star-turned-singer. Hilarity, of course, ensues. Check it out below if you haven’t seen it yet, or, if you’re us and need to watch again for probably the 83th time today.
