With a brand-new behind-the-scenes DVD, a late-2007 mall tour under her belt, a constant flurry of appearances, two more movies in the works (the third installation of High School Musical and the upcoming film Picture This) and her still-going-strong debut album Headstrong -- which could easily break the million-unit sales mark by early 2008 -- it's not clear when Ashley Tisdale even has time to breathe. But fortunately she made some room in her sched to stop by TRL yesterday afternoon and to chat with Buzzworthy. While she politely shot down questions about Hudgensgate, she did have lots to say about Hollywood drama, Christian Louboutins, and peeing in public.
Buzzworthy: How has your life changed in the past few years with the success of your movies, shows and music?
Ashley Tisdale: It's definitely been a lot crazier. I've had a lot of opportunities, obviously, but I'm a lot busier. It's overwhelming sometimes.
BW: How has your fame affected your daily life? Do you get recognized absolutely everywhere?
AT: It's pretty much everywhere. Wherever you go, fans are pretty much always gonna come up to you, which is exciting and cool. But there've been times in restaurant bathrooms, when they're waiting for you outside the stall and it's kinda weird because they're listening to you. But it depends upon where you go. In L.A, people are so used to having celebrities that it's not really a big deal. But then there's other places where it gets a little insane and people get crazy about you. It can be really funny.
BW: Is it easier on the east coast?
AT: No! I'm so scared in my hometown. Ha! No, no, they're so supportive. It's really sweet. They're proud.
BW: We, of course, spend a ton of time online. Do you?
AT: I love to go online! I love Perez Hilton.
BW: What weird Internet rumors have you read about yourself?
AT: We were laughing about one tabloid and "the five-outfit frenzy." It said I changed outfits five times in a day. I did, but it was just because I was doing different talk shows and I changed! And one day, I wore a Juicy Couture t-shirt that said "Un-Hollywood." I got it for free! I just put it on with sweats to run errands. And then suddenly I ended up in like In Touch magazine or something, and it said something like "This is what Ashley thinks of Hollywood!" They put me down for it. And it's so funny because I feel like I am a normal person because I'm not really into Hollywood stuff. I don't go clubbing. I don't drink. I don't smoke. But I wasn't even making fun of anything. I was just wearing a t-shirt! But the press loves to make stuff negative. It's never a positive thing about you. But I was like whatever. It's just a t-shirt. Who cares?
BW: Speaking of clothes, you're constantly featured in style sections of magazines and on celebrity style sites, so let's talk shopping. Where do you like to go, and what do you love to shop for?
AT: I love Hollister and Abercrombie. Bloomingdale's. Victoria's Secret Pink collection, because I love sweats. And I love Free City sweats. I love designer bags too.
BW: What's on your holiday wishlist?
AT: Ooh! Christian Louboutin heels! I don't have any Christian Louboutins. Hopefully Santa will bring me some!
So, now you know what to get Ashley when you're out doing your holiday shopping. And you can watch Ashley get a headstart on the holidays when she helps light ye olde tree tonight on NBC's 10th annual Christmas in Rockefeller Center at 8 p.m., and watch her perform "He Said, She Said" on TRL.
