Stuff We Want To Go Buy Ourselves Instead of Doing Work: Fergie For Kipling, ‘The Dutchess’ Handbag

Over here in quaint, quiet Times Square, the crowds are getting thicker, the usually pristine sidewalks slushier, and if we had a goose, it’d undoubtedly be getting fatter.

The holidays, she is upon us. (The monumentally hysterical folks at Fred Flare even documented the local storefront windows — a daringly brave feat if ever there was one.) And we’re not gonna lie. We’re getting antsy. Maybe it’s all that tasty sugar from that enormo bowl of chocolate-covered popcorn that’s been lying around (sure it’s been sitting out for going on a couple days now, but it’s free) or the Dansk butter cookies (so unsatisfying, yet you eat them anyway! You know you do!), the lingering affect of Ashlee Simpson’s sweetness and light, or the hormones from all those surprise pregnancies, but our brains’ “work” well has runneth dry and has been replaced with a shiny shopping cart, which we’re mentally loading up with holiday gifts — for us! And we’re starting with Fergie’s “Dutchess” bag, from the handbag collection she designed for Kipling.

“The Dutchess” comes in black, plaid, and a beautiful cobalt blue (Lindsay Lohan’s been seen with hers), but just like your mom can’t tell you she has a favorite child but really she does, we — like Fergie, who claims this is her favorite of the lot and has been photographed with it endlessly — love the “Tassles” version (shown here) the most. It’s super spacious and practical yet satisfyingly chic enough to be a “statement bag.” It retails for $198. Get one at Kiplingstore.com, Dillards.com or eBags.com.
