You'd think living the celeb life during Fashion Week is all about getting thousands of (taxable) dollars in glittery swag, quick wardrobe changes (can't be seen in the same four outfits twice in one day!) and steering your Louboutins clear of any cab-curb-street-juice fashion disasters. But you'd be wrong. Even during Fashion Week, it's all about the hustle, even for A-listers like Rihanna, who just presented her new line of umbrellas for Totes (which is appropriate both for obvious reasons and because it's currently pouring here in New York).
With an emphasis on iridescent purples, pinks and silvers, the line is mainly geared toward women (though dudes, if you're into that, go nuts), and our favorite is the version with her lyrics printed on the underside (as if you could possibly forget the lyrics to "Umbrella," but just in caseā¦) You can pick one up at Macy's or at Totes-Isotoners.com starting in April.
At the Fifth Avenue event, Rihanna was rocking her brand-new pixie cut, which she said she'd talked about doing for months but then nearly backed out when her hairdresser said it was time to pull the trigger. "I said 'gimme half a week to mentally prepare for having a half-bald head!'" But now she's loving it, and so are we.
Rihanna, who, along with her signature rain gear, will be performing "Umbrella" at the Grammys this Sunday -- she's up for Record of the Year and Song of the Year -- also talked style, shouting out celeb-fave boutique Intermix as one of her favorite places to shop (Hills heroes Lauren and Audrina are fans too), along with H&M (more on her H&M campaign here). And, like just about every other girl who reads glossies, she gave props to Sienna Miller's style and to the legendary Linda Evangelista -- "her skin always looks flawless." And Rihanna should know -- she was absolutely aglow.
