Today is very special, not just because it's the first official day AFTER the 80th Annual Academy Awards (AKA Hangover Day in Hollywood). And by the way, when will they invite back Adrian Brody so he can make out with more people? Anyway, today is the first day of Spankin' New Ladies Week on TRL. And for those of you unfamiliar with Spankin' New, it has nothing to do with light bondage, you pre-vert.
Spankin' New Ladies Week on TRL is a non-stop revolving door of lady talent (and a few choice dudes too) and their new videos, appearances and live performances. Check out the immensity of the guest list:
Monday: Jordin Sparks is here performing, and both she and Snoop are bringing by their new videos. So there's that. Plus, Ashlee Simpson and the mens of Semi-Pro -- Will Ferrell, Woody Harrelson and Outkast's Andre 3000 -- are all here.
Tuesday: Artist of the Week Janet Jackson could be doing whatever she wants on Tuesday, which is the day her TENTH studio album, Discipline, drops. She could be luxuriating in a golden bathtub filled with expensive champagne and other finery. Or she could be doing nothing. But instead, she'll be causing minor heart attacks because she'll be in the actual same building as us (and also on your TV), with a live performance. Also: we'll be bringing you, faithful fan, Kate Nash's "Pumpkin Soup" video. And we will also try very hard not to die. Because Janet's here.
Wednesday: Huge, huge day. Taylor Swift performs, Ashanti's here with her new video, "The Way That I Love You." And even if you have a fancy HD set, you probably won't see a flaw on the gorgeous faces of Natalie Portman and Christina Ricci, who'll be stopping by TRL too.
Thursday: Sweet, smart Sara Bareilles returns to TRL, and this time she's performing too. Kid Sister, she of "Pro Nails" fame, and Teyana Taylor (you may recall she's the girl who dressed up like a living Barbie on My Super Sweet 16 and claims to have invented the Chicken Noodle Soup dance and rolls around Harlem on a low-rider, which is pretty awesome) are bringing by their new videos, and actress Bitsie Tulloch, who has a cool name and is on the new show Quarterlife, is here.
Friday: Everyone goes home, and the depression and despair of Black Friday ensues. Wah!
