Last week Colbie Caillat temporarily relieved us of our blogging doodies, blogging about the songwriting process behind "Realize" while we caught up on old American Idol episodes clogging up our Tivo election news...
This week, in her second Buzzworthy post, she's popping the cork to reveal the contents of her first hit single, "Bubbly."

I wrote "Bubbly" two summers ago. I was sitting on my bed, at home in my room, so bored, and I realized that I hadn't had a crush on anyone for a long time. Then I started thinking about the feelings I missed having -- you know when you really like someone, are in love, or have a crush, and that person makes you feel amazing inside! Where it starts in your toes and goes all the way up through your stomach and gives you butterflies and they make you smile till your cheeks hurt! Those are the feelings that get you through your day, and I wanted to feel them again! So I wrote that song for people who have those feelings right now from someone they really like, and for the people who don't have those feelings, but deserve to have someone make them feel that way all the time!
When we were recording "Bubbly" in the studio, the track was in record, and for some reason I was confused on where to start singing, so I asked Mikal (her studio producer), "Will you count me in?" And he stopped the music and said "That was so cute! I'm gonna keep that!" And of course I didn't want him to 'cause I thought I sounded silly. But we put it up on MySpace that day and people liked and we knew we couldn't change a thing. And that......is "Bubbly!"
