This just in on our end: French Tecktonik-poplet Yelle’s ‘A Cause Des Garcons’ video! It’s adorably bright, and while vosotros no parlez French bien, we think it loosely translates to “Because of boys.”

The song’s actually a cover — the original is by a 1980s French pop band who also called themselves “A Caus’ Des Garcons,” which is definitely confusing.

Yelle also recreates much of the original video, which is doubly confusing, except Yelle’s version of the video looks more like The Cars’ “You Might Think” video, (and, a bit “Nine in the Afternoon” with that opening bedroom scene, for you Panic fans) and the chicks in the original version appear to have ripped off Chrissie Hynde in the classic Pretenders’ “Brass in Pocket” video, which we just re-watched and remembered how much we love.
