New Video: Kidz In the Hall, ‘Driving Down the Block’

Not to be confused with Black Kids, the Cool Kids, Kids In the Way, the Get Up Kids, Kids Incorporated or the Canadian comics, Kidz in the Hall — the Clipse-meets-Lupe prep-rap duo — may have just made the best video ever featuring a used car lot. Not that there’s been much competition, but this one still deserves some sort of accolade. Perhaps the award should be a golden jalopy or something else that celebrates irony above and beyond the call of duty.

Maybe it’s the plaid suits (by the way, they pretty much dress like that; when we saw them on the black carpet at the Woodies last year, the Ivy League grads were dressed like Andre 3000 circa the “Hey Ya” video and carrying brandy snifters and leather-bound books) or comic ’staches that makes the Chicago duo’s new video fantastically funny. Or perhaps it’s the faux Ferrari getting washed by a pair of ladies with their own fake assets.

Either way, this video has more throwaway jokes than the last several Will Ferrell movies combined. Somebody please give these two guys a TV show quick, and throw in a free used Duster and an Oxford English Dictionary or something.

Watch “Driving Down the Block” below, download the track for free, and watch their mtvU interviews and performance, and catch them on tour right now-ish with Gym Class Heroes.

+ Videos that are slightly relevant because they also involve car lots:
