Michael Jackson had Eddie Van Halen, a Synclavier and a sweet knife fight. Fall Out Boy has John Mayer, designer hoodies and tight martial arts moves. (It bears mentioning that they both share a fondness for monkeys too.)
Covering one of the most epic pop-rock songs of all time was a risky move, but Fall Out Boy proved they were up to the task with a version that's more of a tribute than a foolish attempt to out-great greatness.
But did they dare take on the complicated, classic group choreo in their "Beat It" video? Hell no! But they did get Arrested Development star Tony Hale to play a wack-job sensei.
Watch Fall Out Boy's take on "Beat It," and relive the original in all of its gloved glory below.
