Yesterday we posted our interview with tireless Tokio Hotel fans Josselyn and Amada, who were standing outside of the MTV building last week, waiting to see Tokio Hotel on TRL.

Today, meet Katarina (left), and Monica (right), both 18, who both boldly battled airport hell to fly here for the big event.

Buzzworthy: What do you love about Tokio Hotel?

Katarina: Pretty much what everybody does — they got their own sound, they defy genres. Being formed outside of the U.S., they didn’t really conform to any musical industry standards. And also, just their lyrics are really meaningful to everyone. That’s one of the main drawing factors to them.

Monica: They have really good songs. And they have their own sound. Their lyrics are meaningful and make me feel better when I feel down.

BW: Any lyric in particular?

Monica: The song “Live Every Second,” because it tells you to live your life freely, not to follow the rules.

BW: Do you have any lyrics that are particularly meaningful to you?

Katarina: “Break Away.” It’s just describing breaking out and doing your own thing and needing to live life apart from everybody else. It’s just really really powerful.

BW: How’d you first find out about the band?

Katarina: About a year and a half ago I was on vacation in Europe, and I saw one of their videos. And I just kinda got hooked. And then, you know — the Internet.

BW: Do you have a favorite Tokio Hotel member?

Monica: Yes! Bill!

BW: If I could get you alone with, Bill — and I’m not saying I can — what would you say to him?

Monica: I’d probably blush, and then I would probably ask him if I could have a hug.

BW: Do you think he’d do it?

Monica: Yeah he’s really nice. I actually met him yesterday, and I got a picture with him.

BW: What was that like?

Monica: He was really nice. I was just like “aww…”

BW: If you could spend time with Tokio Hotel, what would you tell them?

Katarina: Just, thank you! Just for everything. For making their music. For inspiring us all and just for being really positive role models.

BW: How’d you get here today?

Katarina: I flew in from D.C.

BW: How much did that cost?

Katarina: Too much!

Monica: By a plane. I’m from Florida.

BW: You flew to New Y ork just see them on TRL?

Monica: Yes! And I saw them last night.

BW: So it was worth it?

Monica: Yeah it was!

BW: What do you think’s gonna happen up there on TRL today?

Monica: Well, hopefully I can ask for a hug!

BW: Again? Well, go for it! Good luck with that!

+ We’ve got even more Tokio Hotel fan interviews coming up. Until then, check out MTV’s exclusive Tokio Hotel photo gallery, watch their TRL performance, and get behind-the-scenes TRL video footage.

  1. man, even their fans are cutedorable!
  2. Their's a reason people fly hundreds--even thousands of miles--to see these guys. They are simply the best Rock band in the world.
  3. Adorable fans!!
  4. It's so great when the fans recognise the boys for things other than just their looks, cute interview. Thaks MTV.
  5. Thank you MTV, Katarina and Monica!
  6. Awww! Great interview! Good job Katrina and Monica for sounding like sane fans, and mentioning that there's more to Tokio Hotel than cute boys.
  7. Ohhhh i remember that girl Monica i met her inside the store, before the performance....i'm glad i at least knew someone who got an interview!!! lol
  8. Seeeee TH Fan love the music and lyrics!!! We don't just love the guys cause their all HOTT (and they ARE). Their music has meaning and strikes and cord in everyone!!!!
Thank You MTV for showing everyone the Real Tokio Hotel and Fans ;)
  9. Aww, =]

And yes I agree, yay for sane fans.

    Thanks for the coverage!
  10. Thanks, MTV! It's so great that MTV is treating the band with some level of seriousness, instead of taking the easy way out and playing on people's (by which I mean clueless and lame people's) willingness to fear and hate what they don't understand. So many critics out there trashing on the guys out of mistrust and/or jealousy of their looks, without bothering to research their lyrics, their past - really anything. And then the endless dismissals of the band's vast amount of devoted listeners as sex-crazed pre-pubescent emo-gothic-sad-little-girl teenieboppers. Which is ridiculous. It's just reassuring for a fan to see that, while the mad critics may howl and rant, reputable sources i.e. the New York Times and MTV are recognizing the band for their authentic musicality and talents, and finding fans who are capable of expressing this as well. Thanks for writing increasingly well-informed, rational and respectful articles about the band - keep it up!
  11. Awesome! I really love these fan interviews, thank you so much for doing them! Great questions, too, and props to the fans for showing that we're not (all) completely crazy.

Very cool of Monica to keep up the TH fan tradition of travelling ridiculous distances to see the boys, even for a little bit. Rad hair, too.

    Thank you, MTV!

    xoxo,
    Charlotte

  16. I've got a question how, did you see them May 5th, clearly TRL was May 6th, so I understood that when you said yesterday you meant May 5th, did you mean May 3rd at bamboozle, because I was there. Anywhoo, I'm a big tokio hotel fan, and if you are to then I would like to give you my e-mail address.
cokeflavored@aim.com, btw if you would like to see me, watch the performance of tokio hotel on TRL and look at the girl in front of Tom, with the grey shirt, and half up half down hairdo!
