Here's more from embedded Buzzworthy reporter Tricia Romano, who braved week two of FNMTV rehearsals to catch Pete Wentz on his bike, Duffy in short-shorts, and men in makeup! Read her first backstage dispatch, and check out the real-deal behind-the-scenes stuff she saw when she ventured into the FNMTV control room, Pete Wentz's dressing room, and beyond!

So, we've been wandering around backstage at FNMTV, and we keep seeing these mysterious, late-Cold War-era red phones. We inquire (slightly fearful of the answer), and we’re told that the red phones don’t call out. They just ring. And "someone" whispers orders. Freaky! Actually, they're called from a truck outside the set. Inside the truck is where they make the FNMTV magic happen and where the producers and directors call camera shots on the fly -- "Close up on Pete!"

FNMTV executive producer Jesse Ignjatovic breaks it down for us: "Everything is wired in there — all the cameras. It's like mission control. Everything comes through this truck." In an adjacent room, we meet two dudes who say in their off time, they land planes at LAX. They say that job is easier. We believe them.
Next, we head to hair and makeup. Parked outside is a buff dude who doesn't seem like the type who wants his makeup done. His name's Dre, he's Pete's bodyguard, and if you wanna get to Pete, you gotta get past Dre first.

Turns out Dre's hanging by hair and makeup because Pete's getting his hair did. A little quick trim and he’s off, thanks to head makeup artist Kristi Fuhrmann, who confirmed my suspicions that everyone was way more relaxed this week: “The energy level in this room was up 100 percent," she said. "Last week Pete didn’t say a word. They were all nervous. This week is so much more fun.”
That could be because talking heads James Montgomery and Tim Kash have quickly acclimated to the star lifestyle, which includes getting a haircut, and yes, getting their makeup done, too. “I call Tim 'Tim Hollywood'," says Kristi. Meanwhile James sits happily in the chair, sighs, and inhales the sweet smell of cosmetics: “The brushes smell nice! Like vanilla!”

After he leaves, we all ponder the fate of Tim, who, in preparation for getting his wisdom teeth removed the next day, has taken SIX Aleve. We force him to drink more water so he doesn’t experience liver failure and fall down mid-show.

A few doors down we get to check out Pete's wardrobe options for this week. The head stylist -- the super awesome Alycia Belle -- shows us three of many, many, many possibilities. “For some reason I’m feeling purple and black. I don’t know if he’s gonna feel it,” she says.

Pete wanders by and makes a decision in a flash. It will be none of the purple outfits, but he likes a red-and-black combo best. “Yes!” She says, “Showing off the tats!” (Everyone’s really excited about showing off Pete’s tats whenever possible, we find.) See the outfit, the tats, and Pete in action tomorrow night on FNMTV.
