It's always great to see truly talented people get the recognition they deserve. Which is why we were psyched to see Keri Hilson, the 25-year-old singer/songwriter who's written hits for everyone from Britney Spears to Mary J. Blige (not to mention the Pussycat Dolls, Diddy and Chris Brown) finally get noticed for her own vocal chops in Timbaland's "The Way I Are."
And it turns out Keri has no problem being in the spotlight. The behind-the-scenes R&B talent -- who played the lead in Usher's "Love in This Club" video -- rocked a recent photo shoot with photog Andreea Radulescu, who describes her as "really easygoing and a little sassy." So how did she manage to stand out? "When I directed her to the purple chair set-up," says Radulescu, "she stood up on it and said 'This is how I do chairs.'" Hey, if furniture-hopping is the secret to churning out razor-sharp lyrics, we've got a jungle gym of ottomans at home just waiting to inspire us!
+ Check out Keri's vocals in "The Way I Are" and "Scream," and see her give new meaning to the term "rocking chair" in her exclusive MTV photos.
