Babyfaced Brooklyn MC Maino — he appeared on Lil’ Kim’s “Lighters Up” and recently opened for T-Pain — doesn’t just tolerate the hate. He welcomes it in his nanny-nanny-boo-boo, bleeps-blips-bumps-and-beats tribute to those petulant sorts with less than favorable impressions of him. Like “Brooklyn Salute,” Maino’s breakthrough single, “Hi Hater” — off his upcoming album, If Tomorrow Comes — casually lauds hip-hop breeding ground Bed-Stuy and other points south and east while enumerating some of the pastimes that keep Maino busiest: stacking paper, hustlin’, and Henny.
Check out the video below, learn the dance (it’s the new Soulja Boy!), and — no hate or anything — but see where Maino dug up that sample.
