U.K. pop-rock outfit The Kooks weren't always called The Kooks. They were once dubbed "Ape Goes West" but instead they went with a moniker based on a tune from a David Bowie album (good call).
Forming in 2004 at the Brighton Academy of Music, the quartet got quickly signed by Virgin Records and put out their critically acclaimed debut disc Inside In/Inside Out. Now with their second effort Konk, a track that got airtime on the season finale of "Gossip Girl" and a slew of tour dates, the group is running full steam ahead.
Watch our exclusive Buzzworthy interview with the Brits as they talk about their influences (like Fleetwood Mac and Bob Marley), making Konk and what they see themselves doing a decade from now. Plus, check out their latest video "Shine On" where The Kooks play (literally) as the house band.
