It's official, ladies and gentlemen. To the disappointment of Claymates across the country (and the unbridled enthusiasm of gay activists everywhere) American Idol runner-up, devoted dad and Spamalot star Clay Aiken has just announced that he is, in fact, a homosexual.
Or rather, he will announce it, in the next issue of People magazine, assuming Perez Hilton's sneak peek of this week's cover is to be believed.
And since we don't put much stock in Perez's Photoshopping skills -- come on, the guy still uses Microsoft Paint! -- we're thinking Aiken really is ready join his fellow B-listers (Lance Bass! Neil Patrick Harris! David Hyde Pierce!) in proving there's no statute of limitations on coming out of the closet.
So please join us in congratulating the proud papa on his wanton act of self-discovery, and celebrate his sexual awakening by enjoying the best (and only!) Clay Aiken songs the MTV archives has to offer: "Invisible" and "The Way." Plus, as an extra special bonus, we invite you to check out our all-time favorite People "I'm Gay" cover: Albus Dumbledore's same-sex shocker of 2007.
Consummate MTV music fans obsessively covering pop music, pop videos, pop stars, and pop culture from MTV headquarters in New York. Plus, trends, LOLs and stuff we love.
