David Archuleta's sort of like the musical equivalent of impossibly-poised child star, Dakota Fanning. He's got the voice of an angel, the face of a pre-teen Honor Roll student and the stage presence of a 20-year showbiz vet. (Which actually kinda makes sense, seeing as the 2008 American Idol runner-up's been singing since he was a scant 6 years old.)
The truth is, there's actually something a teensy bit unnerving about a chubby-cheeked 17-year-old who's already had more coaching than most major league ball clubs. But all that goes out the window the second Archuleta opens his mouth and starts to sing.
Without even meaning to -- hell, without even wanting to -- you just might find yourself tapping your foot, humming along or exercising every single remaining ounce of restraint to keep from creeping out your cubicle-mate by having a dance-party-of-one in your desk chair.
Sure, he's a bit of a guilty pleasure (like Dancing with the Stars and I Love New York!) but really, who could blame you for (secretly) admiring a guy who's got more talent in his left pinky than all five Backstreet Boys combined?
So whether you've never seen American Idol, or you called in and voted for Archuleta so many times you contracted carpel tunnel syndrome, check out Archuleta's debut video, "Crush." In case you couldn't tell, we may or may not have a slight crush on Archuleta ourselves. (Not that we'd ever admit it.)
