"Lovers In Japan" is the fourth single of Coldplay's Viva La Vida album and the answer to the question "What would it look like if a Crayola box exploded?"
Dizzying to the point of nearly inducing vertigo, the video is surprisingly low-tech: Its biggest effects involve a green screen, lens graffiti and a wild confetti party. As a result, there's nothing stopping the song -- a catchy, U2-ish pop ballad -- from jumping right off the small screen and asserting itself as an iTunes must-have.
Watch a pre-shorn Chris Martin and co. tear it up in their latest video, then compare Coldplay's "Lovers in Japan" to U2's similar-sounding classic, "Pride (In The Name Of Love)," after the jump.
