Isn't it rad that Britney Spears' comeback is so far along that now she's the one playing jokes on us?
It seems as though Brit's actually quite the foul-mouthed comedienne. "If U Seek Amy," her (maybe?) third single off Circus, is rumored to be hitting the airwaves any moment, and radio stations are all "Oh. Great."
While the title seems purity ring-worthy enough, say it to yourself s-l-o-w-l-y and see what you get: IF-U-SEEK-A..my...?
Get it? It sounds kinda like if you spelled out a bad four-letter word and then added "me" to the end of it.
With talk heating up that this single will be the next to drop, Britney's got everyone runnin' around unsure what the heck to do. Front and center cursing is easy-peesy: bleep, ban, bam, you're done! But what about this newfangled innovative trash talk? Discussion is mixed, but there are plenty of radio station peeps claiming they ain't gonna be down with this Amy chick, whoever she is (Amy Winehouse? Amy Lee? Amy Poehler? Sedaris? Amy Ray?) and will not be playing the song.
According to Patti Marshall of Cincinnati's Q102 radio station: "It's okay to put in on an album, have fun with it, but we're publicly owned, you know?
If there one's thing Brit has never lost her touch with, it's that she always can bring the Prince-style controversy. (And true confessions: we kinda love it even more than the song itself.)
+ Listen to a clip of the song below, and tell us if you think it's a big f---ing deal or not.
