Okay, so remember how last Friday I was running around the 65th floor of a SECRET New York location where the Jonas Brothers were filming something for MTV involving their movie and TONS of popcorn? Well, that PLACE was the famed Rainbow Room (I can tell you now, and you can go there, but alas, no Jonases! Wah!), and that SOMETHING was The Jonas Brothers Experience, which airs Monday, February 23 at 6pm ET on MTV (uh, duh). You'll have to tune in (duh again) to see which set of Jonas Brothers BFFs won the best prize in the history of prizes (triple duhr!) -- a trip to the Hollywood premiere of Jonas Brothers: The 3-D Concert Experience. (Faints x3, once for Kevin, once for Nick, and once for Joe.)
Check out my Twitter recap (I cut and pasted the highlights below!), and exclusive photos from the event. And, oh yeah, I totally talked to the guys backstage! They completely remembered me from the two days I spent with them shooting "Jonas Brothers: Live & Mobile" this past awesome August, and they unsolicitedly hugged me, and I got all dorky nervous (hence my dorky nervous smile in the photo below). I wanted to be like "Hey what's up?" But, like what are they gonna say "Oh, you know. We were on the Grammys. Saturday Night Live. Major motion picture. Soundtrack. World tour coming up. Not much otherwise. You?" Me: "I got some new sneakers the other day and I cleaned the toilet and rented House Bunny." No. I'd die of mortification! So I mumbled something about how amazing their Grammys performance was and Stevie Wonder and blah blah and then it was time for them to start the show. So, here's what happened in Twitterville and in photos!
+ At the mtv jonas shoot high above the city. The view's gorgeous, and the room is FULL of popcorn. Popcorn everywhere. All over the floor!
+ The BFFs are HERE!!!!!!!... And dancing to SOS. (Jonases will be here soon!) Popcorn is being swept off the carpet.
+ Just met most if not all of the jonas fans here in the audience! Everyone's wearing such cute stuff- homemade JB tees, glasses, etc.
+ Things these jonas fans just told me they've done for JB: missed thanksgiving, skipped school, showed up today with pneumonia! (Gah!)
+ The MTV JB fans are doing what they do best (beside <3 JB) - screaming! (Also overheard a staten island vs jersey debate. Ooh fight??)
+ Watching audience rehearsals on monitors in prod office. It's gonna look like when JBs did TRL but even better bc it's more JB. MoarJBpls!
+ Actually, with all the neon outfits & aviators, this feels a little like JoBros meets dance crew, only with truckloads of popcorn and OJD.
+ The audience is freaking out over "my life would suck without you" & "single ladies." Have JB been replaced? (J[B
+ OMJ popcorn EVUreeeewhere! Bff groups are holding hands praying to win. SOS for reals!
+ Ack security guy just went downstairs on a kamikaze mission to retreive JB!! Eeeeee!!!
+ Still hurrying up and waiting for jonases... Maybe they got mobbed downstairs... Or they're adjusting their ties
+ Gah! They're here! I'm backstage w the jbs!
+ Wait where's big rob?
+ Awww Mama Denise is here. Would it be weird if asked her for hair advice? BTW, I think the JBs are eating lunch. Looks like sandwiches.
+ Gah! Joe's got on awesome black boots w 2 buckles. Kevin just popped out of the dressing room and asked for Michelle - their stylist.
+ Kevin's wearing a black leather jacket and drinking Sprite out of an old-school glass bottle. We're still backstage BTW
+ Gah! The JBs remembered me from the summer, We Hugged and i died! I congratulated joe and nick on their grammy performance. I die!
+ Eeee! JB just got prepped by show producers and the audience is singing burnin up. now it's almost on like donkey kong!
+ I hope the post-production wizards work their magic because the show just started and it's all just screaming. And tears. Real human tears.
+ Someone just yelled out to no one in particular Nick, would you get married at 16?" Maybe thatll be the next MTV Jonas special: Marry Nick!
+ The bff contestants standing like four inches from joe j are keeping their cool impressively. Could be shock tho.
+ Nick called the contestants beautiful. FREAKING OOOOUUUUTTTT
+ Omj. This one girl sorta ambushed Joe w a from-behind hug. Security!!! Don't think that I didn't see that, Ambush Amber or whoever you are!
+ Break from shooting for a second. Btw we're on the 65th fl were just told the 9th fl could feel the shaking & thought there was an rthqke
+ Nick looks a little like a young Elvis. Discuss. Oh nevermind! They're back and everyones singing pushing me away!!!!
+ I wonder how many times a day the jonases hear "I love you. it's like every day's valentine's day. Kevin just complimented the bffs' outfits
+ The shirtless scene has just been mentioned and the audience reaction has left me permanently deaf, I think. THANKS GUYS!
+ Omj. Someone just did the olde-tymey sailor catcall whistle at the Jonases. People still do that???? Who let my grampy in?
+ JBs are sitting up front in a panel. Everyone chanted kevin followed by we love jonas. It's like jonas wars up in here! Capture the flag!
+ Still a quick break while the producers run thru the next segment w JBs. No sign of the kevin touched me girl unforch.
+ We're back! Oooooh! Wooh! SOS segment - it's prolly not what you think.
+ ZOMJ! Prize just revealed. Audience members just started crying.
+ Omg if my bestie was up there and blew the big jonas question, I'd wait til she fell asleep and then cut off her hair with safety scrissors.
+ Uh, someone just yelled out "buns of steel.l CONTROL YOURSELVES ladies! That is NO way to talk to a Jonas! My WORD!!! I do declare!
+ Things the audience loves: nick's hat, kevin's hair, joe's boots, someone's "buns," everyone else's everything.
+ OMJ! This question is Mission IMPOSS!!!
+ Of course Joe's joking around with the audience. New king of Komedy!
+ Will joe get out of here without doing the "single ladies" dance? Audience requests abound!
+ I think Nick's hand is maybe attached to a magic signal that triggers audience screaming each time it waves.
+ Oooh final two groups are about to battle! Gonna be a blood bath! (Note to MTV standards - not literally.)
+ Eeees! Jonasroke! I would KILL this! Esp the big rob rap! Woah these girls dressed like dance crew are destroying! My money's on them!
+ Kevin: impressed by the first team's call-and-response technique. Let's see if next girls have joe's mick jagger swagger. Thatd be my trick
+ Just noticed: one of the BFF groups in the audience is sorta dressed like 80s aerobics instructors. Noice!
