As you probably already know, the Jonas Brothers will be parodied on tonight's new episode of South Park. I have not seen the Jonas Brothers South Park episode, nor have I talked to anyone at Comedy Central (which, like MTV, is an MTV Networks company, which owns the very keyboard upon which I’m now typing!) or the Jonas Brothers about it. I just know that the episode involves Kenny taking his girlfriend to a Jonas Brothers concert where the Jonas Brothers give his girlfriend their purity rings. (Watch a clip below. Warning -- it contains some NSFW/School/ Church terminology.) I imagine there will be virginity jokes. At the very least.
Will tonight's South Park make fun of the Jonas Brothers? Um, probably. Hasn't South Park made fun of any celebrity they've bothered taking the time to animate? Will some of you be offended? I'm sure. But the key word here is "parody." It's in jest. It's just little CARTOONS making jokes. Cartoons with names like "Butters." It's nothing to write a letter over. Or, if you're really super angry, go ahead and write a letter! It's healthy! It's the American way. Sometimes it even works!
But if you do tune in to tonight's episode of South Park, and you don't find the humor in its treatment of the Jonas Brothers, take a deep breath, and ask yourself one question: WWJBD? What Would (The) Jonas Brothers Do? They'd probably just smile, wave, show up to their next appearance/ obligation, and, when asked about it, come up with something super diplomatic to say that just makes them look better than ever.
Happy South Park watching/ letterwriting!
