West Side Story, which just returned to Broadway (!!!!), is one of my favorite movies in the history of film. Jennifer Lopez's too. And you know how on America's Next Top Model, how they're always like "noted fashion photographer Nigel Barker"? PLEASE. Mark Seliger, who shot an updated West Side Story pictorial for this month's issue of Vanity Fair, is an effing genius, and that word is used too lightly in general, and it's not even a strong enough term for how amazing this spread and its stars are.
I mean LOOK at Jennifer Lopez as Anita and CAMILLA BELLE as Maria! I'M DYING. Super foxy Brazilian actor Rodrigo Santoro is Bernardo, and Ben Barnes (Prince Caspian!) is the bright-eyed Tony. ("Keeler! Keeler! Keeler! Keeler!") And if you look WAAAAAAAY upstage and to the right, um, YES, that's Robert Pattinson. In the blue dress, foreground? Ashley Tisdale. Drake Bell's breaking my heart there in the glasses. ("Jai Ho," Drake Bell!) All that's missing is a Jonas Brother or two. (They'd make excellent Jets, no?) Stay cool!
