Wild Light has that freewheeling, windy spirit that you'd usually associate with California bands. But that's not quite right. See, Wild Light's a New Hampshire band with a song about California. "California On My Mind," to be specific, which shares sentiment and a few choice lyrics with the Presidents Of The United States classic, "F*** California."
Comprised of old friends Jordan Alexander and Timothy Kyle, who have been playing music together since fourth grade, Wild Light also have an Arcade Fire kinship going for them. Kyle and Arcade Fire frontman Win Butler went to college together and allegedly learned quite a bit from one another. All that promise is out in force in the new video for "California On My Mind." In it, Richard Avedon's famous Marilyn Monroe portrait comes to life and mouths the words as the band backs her up. Watch "California On My Mind" below.
