This is turning out to be a big day for Scotland! Joining The 1990s on today's roster are Glasvegas, a melodic noise-rock outfit from, you guessed it, Glasgow, Scotland.
Their band name, which combines the name of their hometown with the lights of Las Vegas, is actually a pretty good indication of what they sound like. Moody Brit-rock with soaring neon choruses, packing enough energy to power a fleet of casinos.
Today Glasvegas are making headlines with a knock-out performance they did a month back at Rhapsody Rocks, a must-attend SXSW party that left attendees with some major TMJ. Incredibly, the live version of their hit single, "Geraldine," is just as compelling as the studio version. Aside from hitting every note, they come down on those guitar strings much harder in person.
Watch as Glasvegas positively floor Austin with "Geraldine," the stand-out single from their self-titled debut.
