To help you properly enjoy this clip of Green Day's brand-new video, "Know Your Enemy," which premieres on MTV on Friday, I've had my ear to the speaker all morning decoding lyrics. Here's what I've come up with:

Bringing on the fury/ The choir infantry/ Revolt against the honor to obey

Overthrow the effigy/ The vast majority/ Burning down the foreman of control

Silence is the enemy/ Against your urgency/ So rally up the demons of your soul

Do you know the enemy/ Do you know your enemy/ Well, gotta know the enemy

At first I wasn't sure that I did know my enemy. Or at least, I wasn't sure who Billie Joe Armstrong was shouting about. Clearly American Idiot railed directly against George W. Bush with every ounce of spit it had. It's widely accepted to be the protest album of the Bush era. But he's gone now. Then I was considering the possibility that Green Day were anti-Obama, too, until I remembered this Billie Joe Armstrong quote from a Rolling Stone interview:

"After his acceptance speech, I have to admit, it took me an hour to get the lump out of my throat. Obama inspires people, and this country needs inspiration. People are jaded, pissed off and embarrassed."

So who could the enemy be? The big clue in this exclusive 30-second "Know Your Enemy" preview comes in the third stanza. Look: "Silence is the enemy/ Against your urgency." Silence is the enemy! Billie Joe is suggesting, like Lit before him, that our enemies are... ourselves! "Revolt against the honor to obey," he snarls. Do what you believe is right -- make noise -- even if it's not what you're "supposed" to do.

The enemy is your instinct to go along quietly in the name of comfort. Green Day hasn't turned on Obama. They've written him a rallying cry, reminding the world that it wasn't a president that put us where we are. It was our own silent apathy. And on top of that, no president -- no matter how inspiring -- can get us out of our mess if we continue to choose complacency over responsibility.

"Know Your Enemy" they scream, before a wall of flames. Do what's right, not what's easy. DO. Do your part to make sure that this 21st Century Breakdown has a happy ending. Course all that's just one man's opinion. What do you think?

"Know Your Enemy" premieres on MTV.com at the stroke of midnight, Friday, April 24. Be here.

First, Kanye West stepped out with practically bald model chick Amber Rose on his arm (and, recently, across his lap). Then, P. Diddy protege Cassie took a razor to her pretty little head last week, explaining, via Twitter (of course):

"Sometimes in life, you need a change... Something deeper than what you thought you were capable of ... Something that displays the 'I don't give a f---' attitude that was always present, but never showcased ... & something that will shock your mother, but make her call you a ROCK STAR."

We couldn't agree more. Though Cassie didn't quite go all the way, opting instead of half a bald head, here are more females in music who went all baldylocks on all. Remember: Bald chicks need love too!

Amber Rose
Amber isn't just known for her bare scalp, but also her bare... assets. She's appeared in music videos for Ludacris ("What Them Girls Like") and Young Jeezy ("Vacation"), and she can currently be seen on the arm of one Kanye West.

Sinead O'Connor
Perhaps the most famous bald woman in modern history, Irish singer Sinead O'Connor became an international sensation with her breakthrough hit "Nothing Compares 2 U." She became even more well-known when she performed on Saturday Night Live and tore up a picture of the Pope on live TV in 1992, pissing off Catholics everywhere. Naturally Sinead, um, became a priest.

Natalie Portman
Though not usually thought of for her musical skills, dudes in bands ALWAYS wanna do her. Plus, Natalie did prove her viable rap talents on Saturday Night Live. The V For Vendetta actress went bald for that film and has been linked to fellow baldie Moby and Devendra Banhart -- and she appeared in his video for "Carmensita." Natalie also proved that even hairless, she's still so hot it's not even normal.

You can't have Miley's actual sweatpants (they come with a restraining order and possibly a visit to jail), but you can get your own earth-inspired sweats by Country Love. (No, not Courtney Love. Country Love.)

Blake Lively, Jessica Alba (AKA Tom Kaulitz's baby mama), Rihanna, Vanessa Hudgens and, of course, Miley Cyrus -- she wore hers in New York City while doing press for her box-office smash, Hannah Montana: The Movie -- are all fans of the comfy/casual line of tanks, sweats, tees and hoodies in sherbet-y colors, designed with subtle earth-friendly messages and cute little seagulls and suns.

And now would be the perfect opportunity for me to editorialize and point out that Country Love is FAR more acceptable than that garish, p0rn-y Ed Hardy/ Christian Audigier crap that's so heinous to look at that it almost makes me wish I was born without eyes. Almost. (I mean seriously... can we PLEASE stop with Ed Hardy?? PLEASE? And yes, I know Miley's worn Ed Hardy in the past, but we all make mistakes.)

+ Get Country Love at Bloomingdale's and Fred Segal Fun, and check out more photos after the jump. Plus, more country love: TAYLOR SWIFT!

Five words for you: Tyson. Ritter. On. The. Beach. One more to push you over the edge: "Wet." ... I. KNOW, girl? Tyson himself called the All-American Rejects' upcoming video, "The Wind Blows," their sexiest video of his life, and not for nothin' neither.

After AAR's devil-may-care, waking-up-the-neighbors high-school hijinx video for their last smash single, "Gives You Hell," director Rich Lee, who also shot Fergie's "Clumsy" video, framed up the guys under a sophisticated yet undeniably adult lens, employing a wind machine and icy-cold Cali waters that almost turned Tyson's "landing gear" into ovaries. (Tyson's words, not mine). Open heart, enter lust.

Watch a clip of All-American Rejects' upcoming video, "The Wind Blows," and don't miss the video premiere this Monday, April 27.

Usually celebrities turn on the lights of the Empire State Building. But just the morning, to honor Earth Day and Nickelodeon's Big Green Help, Nick Cannon (sorry, Jonas Brothers fans, this is about Nick Cannon, and not Nick Jonas) and everyone's favorite pineapple-dwelling, porous kitchen tool SpongeBob, took a field trip to the Empire State Building. Both Nick and SpongeBob pretended to turn OFF the lights atop the tallest building in New York. The lights on the Empire State Building will go off for-real for-real for 60 seconds tonight at 9pm.

Now everybody, make like Nelly Furtado and "Turn Off The Light." Or, listen to Lights in the dark. AND, walk to the mailbox instead of driving there! See, Earth-friendly is easy!

This is turning out to be a big day for Scotland! Joining The 1990s on today's roster are Glasvegas, a melodic noise-rock outfit from, you guessed it, Glasgow, Scotland.

Their band name, which combines the name of their hometown with the lights of Las Vegas, is actually a pretty good indication of what they sound like. Moody Brit-rock with soaring neon choruses, packing enough energy to power a fleet of casinos.

Today Glasvegas are making headlines with a knock-out performance they did a month back at Rhapsody Rocks, a must-attend SXSW party that left attendees with some major TMJ. Incredibly, the live version of their hit single, "Geraldine," is just as compelling as the studio version. Aside from hitting every note, they come down on those guitar strings much harder in person.

Watch as Glasvegas positively floor Austin with "Geraldine," the stand-out single from their self-titled debut.

The 1990s, who share origins and former members with fellow Scots Franz Ferdinand, are an indie rock group on the rise. The blogosphere is already all over them, and these days, that usually means the rest of the world is just a breath away. Or at least a car commercial.

Signed to the same European label that has carried The Strokes, The Libertines, Belle & Sebastian, and The Arcade Fire, the 1990s' pedigree alone ought to be enough to get your attention. But wait, there's more.

Not only are their songs airy David Bowie-evoking pop gems -- particularly "59," the first single from their latest album, Kicks -- but they also have flat-out incredible videos to match.

The "59" video, which has just entered the MTV2 rotation, is a stop-motion animation masterpiece. The band members and assorted other characters are rendered as two-dimensional paper cut-outs, uncrumpling and grooving out in a charming miniature world. It's stunning.

Watch "59" and see why we love the 1990s!
