Now that the "katze" is out of the bag about Tokio Hotel's new album -- it'll be out October 2nd, and it's called Humanoid, I'm already fantasizing not just about the songs (because that's for about 292939 other posts) but about the album cover, photography, and cover art.
With a sci-fi-inspired name like Humanoid, I'm pulling for a cover that combines robotic-like elements of Janet Jackson's Discipline album cover and "Feedback" single art, both of which were photographed by Singapore fashion photographers Chuando + Frey.
The name Humanoid immediately strikes a Bjork-esque chord (hopefully in the good way), so I'd love to see Tokio Hotel do a sci-fi future/fashion cover along the lines of the cover of Bjork's 1997 Homogenic album, which was art directed by Alexander McQueen himself and photographed by Nick Knight. (Homoogenic always feels a little Handmaid's Tale-ish to me.)
Of course, Bill, Tom, Gustav, and Georg will give the album cover their own special je ne sais quoi to Humanoid, but if they employed the assistance or inspiration of any of the aforementioned -- or Daniel Jackson, who shot their H&M Fashion Against AIDS t-shirt photos -- I wouldn't be mad at 'em.

Finally, some good news out of Tokio Hotel base camp! Tokio Hotel's LOOOOOOOOONG-awaited next album titled was revealed, AND we have a release date!
Tokio Hotel's next album will be called HUMANOID (it's not necessarily in all caps -- I just got really excited) and it'll be released October 2. I hope. Which means they should just go ahead and officially change the name of month of "October" to ROCTOBER! Or better yet, RAWKTOBER! Also, that title is SO Bjork. I cannot WAIT to see the album art. I hope it's super futuro.
The Humanoid update came via Tom Kaulitz's blog, so thank Tom for the update!
Also, the guy who attacked Gustav in a bar turned himself in. GOOD! Grrr!

Don't let the peaceful balloons, bikes, breezy white lofts, and artsy split-screen cinematography fool you. Kid Cudi's new video, "Make Her Say," has an underlying message of big butts and threesomes.
Kanye and Common are featured on both the track and in the video, and Common classes up the joint a bit where Kanye references Jamie Foxx and Asher Roth and ponders banging an entire sorority. Stay classy, 'Yeezy. Still, the video's balloons and washed-out greys and the track's monotonous, hypnotic chorus (courtesy of Lady Gaga) kinda make me forget that the song's freak-nasty and instead make me wanna have a picnic in the park. You did that, Kid Cudi.

If there's one thing life continues to teach, it's that through Usher and YouTube all things are possible. Fifteen-year-old Justin Bieber may have a fancy record deal now, but growing up in Stratford, Ontario where did a meeting with L.A. Reid fit in?
Well, this Canada teen is one of those effortless talents: Justin posted to YouTube his informal Usher, Ne-Yo and Justin Timberlake covers; unlike the multitudes of copycats, however, Justin raked in Leave-Britney-Alone-level views -- which quickly led to a manager phone call and a face-to-face with Usher.
Hence the cameo for Justin's first video and lead single, "One Time," which you can check out below. Hey, when Usher's away, the kids will play? ... or at least throw family-friendly house parties. Alongside "One Time," Justin's debut album features production from The-Dream and Tricky Stewart -- and dude hasn't even graduated high school.
Does Justin's rise remind anyone else of Esmee Denters? YouTube covers sent the wannabe singer from Oosterbeek, Netherlands on a similar path; although Esmee signed with Justin Timberlake's label, while (according to Justin Bieber himself) Justin passed up J.T.'s offer to work with Usher and L.A. Reid. Battle of the YouTube finds!

Kid Cudi's "Make Her Say" produced by Kanye West, was originally called "I Poke Her Face." And it's about... poking... someone in the face... with... um, a finger... You know! Like when you innocently want to just... annoy someone!
Kid Cudi edited the title down to a more standards-friendly "Make Her Say," and turned out a video complete with breezy, kid-friendly balloons and bikes. But since Kanye's involved, the video probably won't stay kid-friendly for long.
An acoustic Gaga's on that sample, A-Trak scratches, and Common gets a verse too. The full-length video's coming on Monday exclusively on MTV.com, but for now, watch this preview of Kid Cudi's "Make Her Say" video.

Are you TRYING to kill me with your adorable puppy dog eyes and your pea coats? That's what we call a cheap shot, boys. Yes, I could watch this video on mute and still be sold on the men of Parachute...
While frontman Will Anderson can clearly play me like a fiddle, Parachute's heartfelt, melody-driven pop-rock has an even broader appeal. The guys (four of the five are high school buddies) released their debut album, Losing Sleep, in May, with production by John Shanks, who boasts Bon Jovi and Stevie Nicks credits.
Perhaps you saw the Virginia natives perform alongside Jonas Brothers and Taylor Swift in Times Square for New Year's Eve -- hey, maybe they even diluted some of that post break-up tension? -- but if Parachute is still news to you, check out the video for the group's first single, "She Is Love," below.
It's a solid indie-pop ballad (pay attention, Matt White fans); and while the video had potential to be painfully corny, Will's earnest performance pulls it all off -- or maybe it's just that pea coat. Sigh...

Jumping on the feel-better-soon, Gustav train and wishing Gustav Schäfer (Buzzworthy's OTHER favorite drummer) an extra-speedy recovery.
For the two of you who don't know, Tokio Hotel's Gustav was injured Sunday at a club in Magdeburg, when a stranger smashed two beer bottles on his head. Gustav had 36 stitches, though Tom Kaulitz has assured everyone on his blog (which sometimes looks a LITTLE/ A LOT like Buzzworthy, eh? Ohhhh Tom... Love you... Mean it...) that Gustav is healing well and that the stitches only itch.
Read more about Gustav's attack, and post your get-better-NOW wishes for Gustav in the comments. Also, allow me to dedicate this cheesy-but-I-mean-it video ("Don't Give Up," by Peter Gabriel), since sending chicken soup and some Hello Kitty Band-Aids to Germany would be more than a little awkward.

Yes, Adrian Grenier LAID DOWN on Alexa's couch today on It's On With Alexa Chung. No, we're not selling the couch to the most insane Adrien Grenier fan. (I asked. For my "friend," who wanted to know. She was just curious. That's all.) Anyway, here's what Alexa wore on today's show, which featured Ashley Greene in LEATHER SHORTS!

Thursday, July 16
+ Leggings: Les Chiffoniers
+ Shirt: From her boyfriend! Adorbs!
+ Ballet flats: Chanel
+ Necklace: Pono
If YOU MUST get the EXACT same vintage Smiths "Meat Is Murder" t-shirt Alexa has, you can find them here. Or, you can branch out on your own a little bit and get a horror-inspired tee by vintage-esque label Never Sleep. It's $36 at NvrSlp.com.
If you're ABSOLUTELY positive you can pull off liquid leggings and don't have 900-some bucks to spend on Les Chiffoniers, I (hesitantly) recommend Members Only. They're $61 at membersonlystyle.com.

Audrey Hepburn taught us the importance of the black ballet flat, and I'd like to think that she'd appreciate them with PVC leggings too. Get French Sole's ruched "Wag" ballet flat for $150 at Endless.com.
Loved Alexa's chunky bead necklace? Meeee too. And I ALSO love this amber necklace from Ten Thousand Villages. And I LOVE that it's just $12.99 AND it's made in India by fair trade program Tara Projects.

+ VIDEO BONUS: The Smiths, "Stop Me If You Think You've Heard This One Before."

As I'm sure you're well aware, Twilight/ New Moon's Ashley Greene was on It's On With Alexa Chung today, and, being the style stalker I am, I was simultaneously riveted AND repulsed by her leather shorts! Seeing Ashley Greene -- or ANYONE, for that matter -- in HIGH-WAISTED leather shorts was kind of like seeing a unicorn breeding with a rainbow-colored cat: it's neither good, nor bad, but you definitely can't look away.
Ashley Greene CLEARLY has legs for a day and a half. That's not the issue. It's just... leather + shorts + hot, sticky NYC weather = recipe for swampiness in places you just don't want swampage, you know? Although vampires don't sweat, and those shorts were definitely an Alice move. Speaking of moves, while I'm "ehhh, really?" on the shorts, I do applaud Ashley for throwing out a fake-vampire-baseball pitch in gladiator heels!
+ After the jump, check out more photos of Ashley Greene on It's On With Alexa Chung, and share your thoughts on her leather shorts? Awesome or Toss 'em?
