Nineteen-year-old Kristinia DeBarge has been hitting me hard with her tough-girl side. Her "bad girl" takeover is even the subject of her second single, "Sabotage," so it's not just me. And when it came to Kristinia's debut video, "Goodbye" -- which is up for Best Choreography at the 2009 MTV Music Video Awards -- I thought she might kick my ass through the screen.

But in her "The 5" Buzzworthy interview, I experienced The Softer Side of Kristinia -- mainly love for her teacup Pomeranian and devotion to her diary (look out for her novel someday). But that tough girl edge still comes through (is it the DeBarge blood?), and not just because she owns a jar of pickles a day. Doesn't she just have a don't-eff-with-me aura to her? Anyway, when Kristinia talks about her rock music fandom... fun's over. You can see it in her face: Kristinia is deadly serious about Led Zeppelin. And I'm not questioning it.

Watch Kristinia DeBarge's brand-new interview, and after the jump, watch her perform "Sabotage" from yesterday's episode of It's On With Alexa Chung.

+ Since everyone else is doing something vampire-related these days, Henry Rollins figured he'd jump on the bandwagon (along with Iggy Pop and Moby) and star in Suck, a spoof movie about the vampire trend. We seriously hope they get Leslie Nielsen to make a cameo (Dracula: Dead And Loving It anyone??). Pretty sure he's probably booked tho. Watch the Suck trailer for a ridiculous look at Moby, Alice Cooper, Iggy Pop, and Henry Rollins. (Twenty Four Bit)

+ And for all the Twilighters out there who just can't get close enough to R.Patts and his famous Edward Cullen pout, now you can have him watching over your nibbly bits while you're hosing yourself down in the shower. (Street Level)

+ Leona Lewis is set to debut her sophomore album Echo in November of this year, after being the best-selling new artist of 2008. Seriously excited for this one...

+ American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert has evidently recorded some amazeballs song for the upcoming disaster flick 2012, and this photo shoot he did ain't bad either. He's so oddly attractive, we can't put our fake fingernail on it. (Socialite Life)

+ "Mommmmy, Katy Perry has her lipstick out again!!!" (Seriously? OMG! WTF?)

+ Jack-of-all-trades Queen Latifah has a new song out featuring Busta Rhymes and others AND she has a new album coming out next week. Listen to the track here. (Rap-Up)

Not only did Alexa wear a Marc By Marc Jacobs "Off The Deep End" t-shirt -- the same Marc By Marc Jacobs t-shirt we've seen I recall Demi Lovato wearing -- on today's episode of It's On With Alexa Chung, but her shirt was basically a harbinger of the show itself, which featured a visit by a bubbly Christina Milian, couch time with the unflappable Stephanie Pratt, a performance by Kristinia DeBarge, and a cheering lesson by a real cheerleading squad. Wanna know what else Alexa wore? READY????? OKAY!

Monday, August 24
+ T-shirt: Marc by Marc Jacobs
+ Skirt: Juicy Couture
+ Sandals: Salt Water
+ Skull necklace: Iosselliani
+ Elephant necklace: Pretty Little Thing

Did Topshop have Marc Jacob's spooky "Off The Deep End" shirt in mind when they rolled out their "Horror Girls" collection? Hm? Topshop's vampire tee is $36. Topshop's "Eek" t-shirt is also $36.

Cute graphic-print tulip skirt options = this blue Marc By Marc Jacobs skirt is $121 at MyTheresa.com.

... Whereas this tribal-print skirt is a whopping $15.80 from Forever 21. Love that.

If the sexified hair and glasses didn't convey this already, LMFAO's Sky Blu has some serious good taste: In the group's new video, "La La La," inspired by the late John Hughes, Redfoo, with some intense keyboard tappage, programs the ultimate "virtual woman" experience, Weird Science-style; and Sky Blu chooses Chelsea Korka from The Paradiso Girls (that's my girl!) for his first go-around.

Overall, the video's a hilarious composite of '80s concepts of the future, in all their neon pixelated glory. For the uninitiated, I would describe LMFAO as a cross between Chromeo and Brett and Jemaine from Flight of The Conchords. The late John Hughes inspired the LMFAO "La La La" video, and in a strange and sad turn of events, Redfoo and Sky Blu actually spoke to MTV's Tim Kash about their Weird Science concept, unknowingly, on the day Hughes died.

Also, point of contention: Chelsea's look lends itself to more of a '90s feel than an '80s look -- girl is channeling some straight-up Kelly Kapowski from Saved By The Bell. You can see it, right? That is straight hotness, Chels. (And the booty shake? To think Robin Antin said you couldn't dance...)

In years past, this was one of the funniest -- and most awkward VMA moments in all of VMA history. It was the 2002 VMAs, and Britney Spears -- after she broke up with Justin Timberlake and around the time she dated Fred Durst (the beginning of the downward spiral?) took to the stage at Radio City Music Hall (also the location of the 2009 MTV VMAs) to present Michael Jackson with a birthday cake.

Britney was dressed like she'd shown up to a ladies-only Village People tribute concert. A nervous-looking Michael Jackson -- dressed half like a robot -- appeared out of it or uncertain as to why he was at the VMAs in the first place,  and unfortunately what transpired was something akin to a tragic game of telephone or disastrous round of dominoes; Britney referred to Michael Jackson as "the artist of the millennium." Michael Jackson took that as a cue to accept what he was either told was or interpreted as an MTV Artist of the Millennium VMA.

The Britney-Michael Jackson VMA moment seemed funny at the time and became Just Another Michael Jackson Joke. But really, in the wake of his untimely death, it's not something to snicker at anymore (except for Britney's outfit, because that's still funny). While Michael Jackson wasn't officially accepting an Artist of the Millennium award, if such an award existed, he'd be the first one it'd go to. And the only one it'd go to. Michael Jackson was by far the biggest and most important star to ever attend the VMAs. Without him, it's hard to imagine MTV at all... How do you think MTV should remember Michael at the 2009 VMAs?

Don't miss the 2009 VMAs live from Radio City Music Hall in New York City on Sunday, September 13 at 9pm!

Of course you wanna get in Taylor Lautner's pants. Even my DAD thinks the newly bulked-up star of New Moon and unwilling leader of the wolf pack is super hot. Hey, he knows a good-looking dude when he sees one. And Taylor Lautner knows good jeans when he sees them. Just like Brooke Shields once famously uttered "Nothing comes between me and my Calvins," if you're gonna get into Taylor Lautner's pants, you're gonna have to get between him and his J. Brand Denim Co Jeans. Because this summer, dude has pretty much not left the HOUSE in anything but J. Brand. He wore Kane Straight-Leg Jeans to the 2009 MTV Movie Awards, a pair of Kane Straight-Leg Jeans in "Colt" wash to the 2009 Teen Choice Awards.

And ladies, while the prospect of actually getting into Taylor's jeans is admittedly quite low, you can get into your own J. Brand jeans -- they make some of the comfiest, most versatile and wearable skinny jeans I've tried (and believe me, I've tried).

In his brand-new video, "She Don't Wanna Man," off his debut album, Asleep In The Bread Aisle, Asher Roth upgrades his party venue from college campus to club scene. But unlike the pantydropping prowess he displayed in "I Love College," Asher Roth gets the ice-cold Heisman from Keri Hilson, who's clearly not interested in what's going on under his baggies. Which is fine, because Asher Roth and Keri Hilson look like they have about as much chemistry as my great aunt and my dry cleaner.

+ Project Runway winner Christian Siriano just launched a new makeup line for Victoria's Secret Beauty and he wants to give you a downtown makeover, and not in the hot-tranny-mess way. (NYMag)

+ Kylie Minogue, touring North America next month, is looking (what'd you say, Christian?) fierce on the cover of Instinct magazine. (We Are Pop Slags)

+ Big Boi is coming out with another solo album, but Andre 3000 fans don't fret. Outkast will also release another album of crazy soon after. (AllHipHop)

+ Hip-hop power couple Ashanti and Nelly called it quits this week. Truly a sad day. Even more sad than Michael Jackson not being buried for the last two months, though that comes in at a close second. (Rap-Up)

+ Just another caaaaaasual travel day for Lady Gaga, wearing nothing more than a g-string onesie. Comfy and caaaasual. (Bossip)

+ Mariah Carey has covered Foreigner's "I Want To Know What Love Is" and is releasing it as the official first single off her forthcoming album "Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel." (Neon Limelight)

Since our lives have clearly been on hold waiting for Papa Joe Simpson's next contribution to the music industry (...), his last one of note being, of course, Ryan Cabrera's solo album (...), I'm pleased as punch to report there's now light at the end of the tunnel: Papa Joe's (latest?) Russian import An-ya has hit the U.S. with her debut solo album, Candy Shop.

An-ya already has a singing career in Russia -- and if you know about it, I am very impressed with your knowledge of Russian pop girl groups -- but she was eager to sign on up with Simpson's EMI label, which is actually called Papa Joe Records.

Anyway, things to know about An-ya? Well, she has some kinda fierce eyebrows, she hails from Vladivostok (repreSENT!), and she taught herself English by listening to Britney and The Spice Girls. When An-ya was 18, she won a contest to become one third of the Russian girl group, Yes!... hence the experience.

Quick note to An-ya, though, and maybe Papa Joe didn't tell you this, but this is like, what, the third single in recent memory called "Candy Shop"? We GET that "Candy Shop" is a metaphor and stuff, but Madonna was dishing it out long before you were, so you're going to have to bring a little something else. But I'll concede "Candy Shop" and "Nightlife" are pretty fun club numbers.

What I can't condone? Whatever was happening here at the Teen Choice Awards.

(Yes, we get it. You have a lollipop.)
