I can get into The Summer Set's iPod-ready pop-punk stylings; I can get into the youthful, effortless energy of it all, but I gotta say, I LOVE that the one girl of this fivesome is the band's drummer. Sorry -- not sexist, right? That's just bad-ass, and I love it. You work your stuff, Jess Bowen; who says the guys should be the only ones hitting stuff?

So anyway -- still with me? The Summer Set, of Arizona, is all you if you're into some honest fare for your party mix or your running playlist. The group's sounds are very, very of-the-now, but there's solid musical instincts behind it; and the lyrics are airy and mercifully un-cheesy.

Even though they're signed now, The Summer Set ctually made a name for itself with self-released EPs, MySpace postings, and unsolicited friend requests!

I'm particularly into "Chelsea" -- about a girl whose sheer hotness is powerful enough to get other girls' names deleted from iPhones. Little aside: "Chelsea" is based on lead singer Brian Dales' girlfriend Chelsea Staub -- surely you know her as Stella Malone from JONAS on Disney. So does that mean Chelsea really wears a new dress every day? Girl, that's a lot of work... but I guess you get back what you put out; this might even be the dangerous Chelsea from that sweet Stefy song...

The Summer Set's debut full-length album, Love Like This, drops this fall on October 13th. Can't wait for that? Listen to The Summer Set's cover of Usher's "Love In This Club." And follow them on Twitter at @the_summer_set.

Holy V-neck, Batman, I thought Zac Efron was putting out singles for a minute there. But it's actually a spruced-up John O'Callaghan of The Maine, and dude deserves a raise, because that blazer is looking all. right. on him. Don't get me wrong: I enjoyed the entirety of The Maine in their airport appearances (as part of the band's tour diary from a few months back, trust me, the dance parties were memorable), but this new production goes the extra mile, I would say, to hold my attention.

And yes, The Maine's new video, "Into Your Arms," off Can't Stop Won't Stop, is set in an airport and runs backwards -- VERY MUCH like David Cook's "Come Back To Me" video! But what David Cook's video lacks that The Maine has in spades is John O'Callaghan's lip curl! Hearts!

Watch a (former? potential?) flame going backwards in time through extreme airport hell while the guys of The Maine remain cool amidst chaos. I feel for this girl. But at least her hair looks good. And she also has a really close encounter with John. Why doesn't that happen to me at LaGuardia!?

Now boarding: Bill Kaulitz, Tom Kaulitz, Gustav Schäfer, und Georg Listing! And no, I don't have photos of Bill Kaulitz's new nipple piercing (though I'm sure the most diligent of you Tokio Hotel fans have already dug those up!), but I do have a brand-new video message from Tokio Hotel, who sent the MTV Buzzworthy Blog a video message from the London airport before boarding a flight to South Africa to shoot their video, "Automatic," off their upcoming album, Humanoid.

If you can get over your angst and outrage that Tokio Hotel wasn't nominated for a 2009 VMA (I know! And Bill deserved to win Best Legs!), then watch the video after the jump, okay? And stay tuned for more Tokio Hotel video updates!

You've seen/memorized Cobra Starship's West Side Story VMA promo video. Now go behind the scenes and underground -- deep, deep beneath Brooklyn -- at the New York City Transit Musem where Cobra Starship shot their 2009 MTV VMA promo spots, and watch Gabe Saporta and Ryland Blackinton discuss the Cobra-created choreography that got trumped by Wade Robson's pro moves, plus Lyrca, unitards, and more stuff "people 'in the biz'" of talking about dance know about. And stay tuned for more VMA promo spots starring the 2009 MTV VMA presenters and performers.

Never seen West Side Story? Seriously? Shame on you. But I'll wait to chastise you until after you've watched this brand-new MTV on-air spot that Cobra Starship filmed for the 2009 MTV VMAs. The new video features Cobra Starship -- and Leighton Meester -- reenacting West Side Story's "Tonight," a cinematic and theatrical behemoth.

The Cobra Starship VMA video was choreographed by Wade Robson (let that sink in for a minute...) and filmed at the New York Transit Museum in Brooklyn. The museum is completely underground, and the promo was shot in a vintage New York City subway car, which is why it looks a little like something out of Beat Street. My only complaint: Not enough Ryland. Apparently Courtney Love was on set too. (Let THAT sink in...)

Watch the Cobra Starship 2009 VMA promo video, and stay tuned for more videos featuring VMA performers and presenters.

+ Ever the smart businessman, Snoop Dogg has just released some sick headphones (the only ones available with in-ear subwoofers), in partnership with music accessory outfit Skullcandy. Gotta make that meezy, fo' sheezy. (HipHop Wired)

+ Lady Gaga does the cover of OUT magazine (along with an amazing photo spread and accompanying article), and when we say "does it," we mean she blows it out. of the effing. water. Don't walk... RUN! (OUT)

+ Guitar god Les Paul passed away today, leaving tons of musicians and music lovers worldwide mourning the loss of a genius inventor and performer. (E! Online)

+ Electro duo La Roux announced today that their next single will be "I'm Not Your Toy." We're kind of in love with this band, and my boyfriend hates me because of it. Overshare? Oh, you just WAIT... (NME)

+ Remind us again why Scarlett Johansson is trying to have a singing career? Probably the same reason Beyonce is trying to have an acting career. Watch this just-released video in which, regardless of whether or not she can sing she looks insanely hot, for "Relator" with Pete Yorn to refresh your memory. (PopSugar)

+ We love Fefe Dobson (remember "Take Me Away?"). Evidently she put on a smoldering show at NYC's Mercury Lounge (performing new tracks like "I Want You" mixed with some old favorites) last night. We love what this girl stands for: sticking it to the man and doing things her way. Let's hope this time around her label will keep her on the payroll for a while. (Neon Limelight)

Buzzworthy besties HONOR SOCIETY are well into their Full Moon Crazy Tour, but they still found the time to remember the little people. And by the little people, we mean us. Why? Because the men of Honor Society are angels who pose as men on earth. There. The secret's out. Here's what Michael Bruno (happy belated birthday!), Alexander Noyes, Jason Rosen, and Andrew Lee had to tell us about Honor Society's life on the road and the big build up to their upcoming debut album, Fashionably Late. I want to believe that someone was wearing jorts when this tour diary was written, by the way...

Hey MTV, it's Honor Society, coming to you from the road. A quick review for those of you who don't know we're on the Jonas Brothers World Tour '09 as well as our own headlining Full Moon Crazy Tour (why do one tour when you can do two at the same time!)

Things have been exciting lately, we got to do two shows in Detroit in one day: a matinee show for our Full Moon Crazy tour which ROCKED, the fans were incredible, and then we raced over to the Palace at Auburn Hills at played for 15,000 people opening for the Jonas Brothers!

Right after the show we hopped on a plane to New York City for our album cover photo shoot. It's our debut album, called Fashionably Late, and it comes out September 15th, GO GET IT! You can pre-order the album at honorsocietymerch.com.

The photoshoot was incredible and really completed the artistic vision we had for the record. There's great imagery and symbolism that our fans will love.

Good news for Avril fans, fans of celebrity perfumes, the pink-and-black color combo, and fans of perfumes that share the same name as a Radiohead song. Avril Lavigne's brand-new perfume, "Black Star," just hit Kohl's stores nationwide, and I had the chance to get a few deep-down whiffs of eau d'Avril just this morning. Here's what Avril's "Black Star" smells like:

+ Hibiscus
+ Dark chocolate (nom!!)
+ "Electric Youth" -- the Debbie Gibson fragrance that most of 1990 smelled like and that also smelled like poison.

Avril's "Black Star" has some sensual plum notes, and heavy opening notes of citrus. Honestly, when I first smelled it, I immediately though of "Electric Youth." Which isn't a good thing. BUT, after the drydown, "Black Star" grew on me, and my colleague at the MTV Remote Control Blog RAVED that it smelled like the fresh and fruity teas and towels you get at a spa. (HM! I WOULDN'T KNOW, Remote Control!) Meanwhile Buzzworthy's Travis was an insta-fan, declared it better than Britney's fragrances and exclaimed "If i was straight, i would want you to wear that."

Anyway, Avril's "Black Star" fragrance is definitely not the best damn thing I've ever sprayed in the vicinity of my nose, but it's certainly not one of those cloying, old-lady perfumes. And it's 100% better than Diddy's "I Am King." If you're into light, juicy, "pink" perfumes, by all means, give it a shot. "Black Star" is $29 for the 30ml and $39 for the 50ml.

AND, just in case you don't follow Avril but were wondering WTF happened to her, she's in the studio working on a new album, which should be out November 17. (So step OFF, haters!) PS! Watch my FAVORITE Avril video after the jump!
