(Michael Thompson, GQ)
Merry Christmas aaaaand you're welcome. Here we have Rihanna, wearing ABSOLUTELY no shirt and really, barely any shorts, on the cover of the January 2010 issue of GQ. THAT is how you sell a magazine at the end of 2009. And an album.
Rihanna's been wearing increasingly less and less lately, already went topless in Italian Vogue, and wears little more than Mickey Mouse ears and a bullet vest in the preview for her upcoming video, "Hard." Obviously sexy is the new sanitized where Rihanna 2.0 is concerned. She even recently complained to The New York Times of her past life, when the record label held her and her image back:
“In the beginning, everything was a little more manufactured. It had to be safe, and in order for it to be safe, it had to be done before, which made no sense to me. I was like, ‘What do you mean, I can’t cut my hair? It has to be long and blond, like every other female singer in the game? No, I’m not doing that.'"
So, the takeaway here is if Rihanna wants to go topless, Rihanna's going topless.
