Don't know about y'all, but despite my undying love for the Christmas season, I've about had it with the same old usual holiday jams. Somewhere around the 400th time of hearing Paul McCartney's "Wonderful Christmastime," you start feeling a little Jack-Nicholson-in-One-Flew-Over-The-Cuckoo's-Nest.
So, with that in mind, props to The Strokes' Julian Casablancas for resurrecting the little-heard and long-forgotten gem, "I Wish It Was Christmas Today."
The yuletide jam was originally performed on Saturday Night Live years ago by Jimmy Fallon, Horatio Sanz, Chris Kattan, and Tracy Morgan. Julian Casablancas has given the song a rather Strokes-y paint job (rocking, rather than the synth-heavy sound of his Phrazes For The Young solo album) and released the song as an official holiday single.

As an added bonus, here's some video of Julian Casablancas performing the song on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, with original performers Sanz and Fallon, as well as The Roots!
