You know who had a kind of quietly awesome year? Mos Def! True story: the Brooklyn MC/rocker/actor/activist appeared in an episode of House, starred in the underrated Next Day Air, collaborated with the indie-blues duo Black Keys on the recently released Black Roc album (along with Rza and many others) and, if all that weren't enough, made one of the best hip-hop albums of the year -- The Ecstatic.

Here we have a cool sneak peek at the video for one of The Ecstatic's most, well, ecstatic tracks, "History," which also functions as a reunion of one of hip-hop's great groups: Black Star, which featured Mos Def and his partner Talib Kweli trading verses, dropping knowledge, and generally rocking your face off.

The sneak peek for Mos Def's new video, "History" promises some rich, black and white cinematography, and Mos Def keeping it real in a suit. Keep your eyes peeled and your mind ready for the full-length "History video," coming soon.

Timabland recently told MTV News that his target audience is desperate housewives. Or, rather, women who watch Desperate Housewives (he also says they like Sex And The City, going to bars and being from Europe (what?)). This, he says, is why you find Miley, Katy and Justin on his new Timbaland Presents Shock Value II album, rather than the usual assortment of rappers he has been known to work with.

I guess it stands to reason that, given Timbo's undoubtedly rigorously researched data that these same new fans of his would be Twilight or True Blood aficionados, because that is the only real reason I can think of for the presence of vampires in this new, Paul Cory Allen-directed clip for "Morning After Dark."

Timbaland, French singer SoShy, and Nelly Furtado wander around what looks to be a small, Eastern European town, stopping blood suckers from fronting on assorted would-be victims.

Maybe while they're over in that neck of the woods they should stop by Ukraine and visit a kid named Valentine, who recently posted an incredibly earnest online plea to Tim, asking the super producer to make him popular.

As Little Boots, Victoria Hesketh makes lush, self-assured dance pop. But in person, on camera, and under "The 5" microscope, she reveals herself to be a kind of shy, unassuming gal with a penchant for funny personal anecdotes.

Hesketh took some time out from being lauded for her Hands album and her critically acclaimed EPs (New In Town and Illuminations) to chat with us and give us some insight into the woman behind the Boots.

She goes into detail about her previous life as a geek, recalling the days when she got straight As as a student back home in England. Not that she's left all that nerdery (yes, that's a word) in her past; she fancies herself quite the gear-head, and you can hear it on the array of synth and keyboard sounds that grace her tracks.

It's not all tech talk, though. She also tells the unnerving story of getting a fish pedicure at a Japanese spa. Has to be heard to be believed.

Check out "The 5" with Little Boots, and watch her video for "Remedy" below.

Believe that if you haven't yet started obsessing over "Carry Out" -- Timbaland's latest team-up with Justin Timberlake, off of Timbaland's brand-new album, Timbaland Presents Shock Value II -- it's about to be on repeat on your iPod, computer, and mind well into 2010. Just an example of the nasty sauce Justin Timberlake pours all over "Carry Out."

"Take my order 'cause your body like a carry out/ Let me walk into your body 'til you hear me out/ Turn me on my baby, don't you cut me out."

All these Driv-Thru metaphors are makin' me hungraw for a Super Biggie-Size of whatever they're serving up back there.

Check out this new video clip of Timbaland and Timberlake -- the guys who brought you the still-awesome "Give It To Me" (relive that video below) -- discussing their new fast-food sexy-time jam, "Carry Out." And stay tuned for the "Carry Out" video, coming soon.

Don't know about y'all, but despite my undying love for the Christmas season, I've about had it with the same old usual holiday jams. Somewhere around the 400th time of hearing Paul McCartney's "Wonderful Christmastime," you start feeling a little Jack-Nicholson-in-One-Flew-Over-The-Cuckoo's-Nest.

So, with that in mind, props to The Strokes' Julian Casablancas for resurrecting the little-heard and long-forgotten gem, "I Wish It Was Christmas Today."

The yuletide jam was originally performed on Saturday Night Live years ago by Jimmy Fallon, Horatio Sanz, Chris Kattan, and Tracy Morgan. Julian Casablancas has given the song a rather Strokes-y paint job (rocking, rather than the synth-heavy sound of his Phrazes For The Young solo album)  and released the song as an official holiday single.

+ Listen to Julian Casablancas' "I Wish It Was Christmas Today" here.

As an added bonus, here's some video of Julian Casablancas performing the song on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, with original performers Sanz and Fallon, as well as The Roots!

When we had Never Shout Never's Christofer Drew stop by to answer your queries for our Buzzworthy Blog Fan Interview it was impossible to overlook his nautical The Old Man And The Sea theme to his look.

In these exclusive MTV photos you can see Admiral Drew in all his naval glory. He's got the pea coat, the sailor's cap and, in a mark of true dedication, two anchors tattooed on either hand.

He's also rocking an entire summer's worth of camp-made friendship bracelets and assorted other wrist trinkets.

Perhaps most telling is the "Don't Worry Be Happy" (holler at Bobby McFerrin) top he's sporting. It's an appropriate slogan for his acoustic, ebullient emo-folk. Can't wait to hear it in all its glory when his What Is Love album finally drops in January.

Sean Kingston does right by his friends. When he's not making Caribbean-dance-pop jams like "Fire Burning," he's helping pals like Iyaz become chart-busting sensations. And even then he still has time to help out his pals.

One of Kingston's closest amigos is his dog, Stella. And, in what has to be one of the more truly heartwarming things I have seen in a while, he is lending his name and fame to a truly awesome cause.

Kingston is participating in a campaign for Peta 2 (the young adult arm of PETA) in an aim to educate folks about not chaining their dogs. According to Peta 2's site, dogs should be treated as family members, not burglar alarms. That sounds like sound logic, to me!

The ad aired during MTV's Styl'd and features Sean Kingston and Stella. Other participants in the Peat 2 campaign include Eva Mendes, Justin Bieber, Never Shout Never's Christofer Drew, and Linkin Park's Chester Bennington.

Check out an interview with Kingston below (as well as his video for "Fire Burning") below.

Stories about celebrities trashing their hotel rooms, making absurd demands on waiters, and generally acting like enormous babies are... well... often true. But not in Beyonce's case. When Beyonce and Jay-Z ate at New York restaurant Marea last night, Beyonce left a sweet little surprise behind when she was done -- a cute little reindeer on her plate, made of out... whatever it was she ate that was red and yellow and green. Adorable, right? I can't even draw that well, yet Beyonce made this out of food.

This just in -- Lady Gaga looked very normal and cute as a young girl. This may come as a shock to you since you're used to seeing Lady Gaga looking like this:

... Or like this:

... Or this:

... Or this:

... But beneath all that blood, lace, and Latex, Lady Gaga -- born Stefani Germanotta -- used to be Just Like Us -- a little girl who went to Catholic school and danced with her daddy during high school, as evidenced by these early Gaga photos from In Touch. Unlike us, Lady Gaga resembled a young Madonna in that iconic photo at her communion:

Also, unlike us, Lady Gaga grew up to be one of the biggest performers on the planet. Still, enjoy these portraits of the artist as a very young lady... before she looks like this again.

Hey guys! Guys! I got news! Did you hear that Leona Lewis' new video for "I See You" cost over $300 million to make, thus making it the most expensive video ever made and that Leona Lewis' real skin color is blue? Okay wait. Those are basically lies. But, Leona Lewis' new video, "I See You" is from the movie Avatar, which DID cost over $300 million, and, like the good, blue-skinned Na'vi people of Pandora, Leona Lewis also gets the blue treatment in the video. "I See You" was written by Oscar- and Grammy-winning composer James Horner, which is why it sounds almost exactly like "My Heart Will Go On" from Titanic. True, "I See You" is no "Happy," but joke's on us, because "I See You" was already nominated for a 2010 Golden Globe for Best Original Song.
