Man, it really is Ke$ha's world, folks. We are just subletting. Let's crunch some numbers: her debut album, Animal? Number 1 on the Billboard album charts. Her debut single, "Tik Tok?" Number one on the Billboard Hot 100. Her follow up single, "Blah Blah Blah?" Debuted at number seven. And she's presenting at the Grammys.
Ke$ha's already inspired a parody video. Now she's got Miley Cyrus' little sister Noah lip syncing to her song on YouTube, and I'm pretty sure it's only a matter of time before you start seeing gals rocking her eye-patch style makeup look and crazy fallen-eagle feathers in malls all over the blessed nation of ours.
So prepare yourselves for the victory lap in the form of endless TV appearances. Wednesday night the California trash-pop star hit Late Night With Jimmy Fallon to perform "Tik Tok." Gone was the eye makeup, but she more than made up for it with the industrial amount of glitter applied all over her body and, oh yeah, THE NATIVE AMERICAN HEADDRESS.
What's kind of cool about this clip is the fact that, despite being the most popular person in the world right now, Ke$ha's still keeping it pretty gully with a minimal band featuring her side-hawked hype-woman and biker gang bass player. Never forget where you come from, y'all.
