MTV's Hope For Haiti Now benefit sent out a beacon of light, hope, and help to the people of Haiti. And one of the brightest lights of the star-crossed night was Taylor Swift, who performed a stripped-down, slowed-down, breathy version of Better Than Ezra's "Breathless," set to strings, live from Los Angeles.
Watch Taylor Swift's performance of "Breathless" at MTV's Hope For Haiti Now: A Global Benefit For Earthquake Relief.
And if you haven't yet, watch all of the performances from the Hope For Haiti Now benefit here. Also, pre-order the Hope for Haiti Now full-performance album for just $7.99 on iTunes. And please, donate.

Last week we went behind the scenes of Asher Roth and Justin Bieber's Silent Library appearance, as those two Georgia transplants put themselves through any number of grotesque pranks, all of which had to be suffered through (and enjoyed) in silence. And all the action takes place in a working library. Hence, Silent Library.
Today we check in with Forever The Sickest Kids, who took some time out from promoting their The Weekend: Friday release to come join the fun on the set of the newish MTV prank show. In the video below, we get more behind-the-scenes access as the Dallas band's guitarist Marc Stewart talks about the frenzied swatting he took at the hands of a special kind of S.W.A.T. team.
To the howling glee of his band mates (how's that for empathy), Marc gets brutally swatted by fly-swatter-brandishing assailants. This ordeal leaves him bruised but bemused; he's actually a really good sport about the whole thing.
Check out the behind-the-scenes video below, and be sure to tune into MTV tonight at 6:30PM ET to catch a new episode of Silent Library. And watch full-length Silent Library episodes and clips.

One of the many highlights of the incredibly moving Hope For Haiti Now: A Global Benefit For Earthquake Belief last Friday night was Justin Timberlake's stirring performance of Leonard Cohen's stone-cold classic "Hallelujah."
The track was minimally performed with a bearded, somber Timberlake playing piano, accompanied by Matt Morris (who is due to release his When Everything Breaks Open on Timberlake's Tennman Records this year). Justin Timberlake's "Hallelujah" performance showed off a new, more mature singing style for the once boy-bander, betraying a greater emotional depth than you might have expected.
Cohen's "Hallelujah" has gone through something of a renaissance in the last few years. When Jason Castro covered the late Jeff Buckley's take on the track on American Idol, it became a posthumous hit for Buckley in 2008.
According to MTV News, "Hallelujah" is a song that Justin Timberlake and Matt Morris often sing, dissectand play when the two share studio time. Timberlake thought the Cohen classic, "just kind of fit for the telethon."
Check out Justin Timberlake's beautiful take on Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" below.

There's Behind the Music and then there's behind the music. MTV.com's new show, re:PLay, gives you a front row seat to watch the nuts and bolts of your favorite jams take form.
In this episode, Motion City Soundtrack's Justin Pierre talks about the writing and recording of their single, "Disappear." He goes into detail on the unique guitar interplay between himself and fellow Motion City axeman Joshua Cain and the need for distortion on the song (he even asks that you turn the distortion on, "in your mind").
He then proceeds to give a pretty clear demo of how to play "Disappear," with its descending verse chords and its ascending chorus melody. He even gives a handy look at how to play the song's angular solo.
Watch Motion City Soundtrack's Justin Pierre discuss his guitar history on re:Play to see how rock 'n' roll sausage is made. And watch talk you through "Disappear," "The Weakends," and "Her Words Destroyed My Planet."

So here's a little kid named Mini Daddy, performing a Reggaeton track in the vein of Daddy Yankee (hence Mini Daddy). This small dude's name is Adriansito and the song is called El Niño Mas Bonito. Okay. So now let's go over the three things that make this incredible.
1. Mini Daddy is a kid.
I thought for a second that he Mini Daddy might be some kind of Andy-Milonakis-esque hoodwink, wherein he has some tragic malady that makes him look like he's a lil' tyke while, in reality, he's a grown man. But no. This is a child. Performing Reggaeton.
2. He is not mini.
I'm not trying to give this kid body-image issues, but he's clearly not saying "no" to seconds, right? And let's be honest, if this was just some waif-like, ready-for-TV child performing Reggaeton, it wouldn't be as funny. There's more to love here.
3. The ratio of costume changes to set changes.
I count seven (SEVEN!) costume changes in the first 37 seconds of this masterpiece. This is clearly where the full weight of the budget went for Mini Daddy's video, because the action takes place in only two places: a plain white set and a plain black set. What? You were expecting Pandora? It's a little kid singing Reggaeton! It sells itself!

It's hard to improve upon the perfection that is Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance," but NYC electro-dance-rock duo Dangerous Muse (the BFFs of our BFFs at Logo's New Now Next blog) comes pretty close. Dangerous Muse's slightly NSFW "Match In The Gas Tank Mix" of "Bad Romance" is like the nakeder, nastier stepbrother of the original. A dance track through and through, it's laced with electric licks, sped-up/ front-and-center Gaga vox and a male verse thrown in -- "I want your plastic, your figurine..." Listen in the dark.
+ Listen to Dangerous Muse's "Bad Romance" remix, and watch their new video, "I Want It All."

I was in a cab this morning when I heard Paul McCartney's power-pop classic "Jet" on a local New York radio station. Except it wasn't Paul McCartney's version of the song. It was a remake, plugging in the names of famous New York Jets like Darrelle Revis, Thomas Jones and Bart Scott into the ex-Beatles' jam.
While I do not count myself as a Jets fan, this still didn't inspire any confidence or enthusiasm on my part. Or my driver, for that mattter (he just kept talking on his phone).
I'm not a Vikings fan, either. But if I were, I would be pretty amped about the fact that no less a rock god than Prince had written and recorded an original song in honor of the Minnesota football team's playoff run.
Written immediately after the Vikings crushed the Dallas Cowboys in last week's divisional match-up, Prince's "Purple And Gold" is a very, well, Prince kind of fight song, with very Prince-like lyrics, "we r all amped up like a rock n roll band/ready 2 celebrate every score/ready 2 fight the elegant war/ready 2 hear the crowd roar."
Just in time for their huge NFC Championship confrontation with the New Orleans Saints this weekend. Check out Prince's ode to the Vikings below.

There's a place on the Internet where weird/awesome fan art and music merch meet. Where we find such golden nuggets as Lady Gaga Barbies, Paramore nesting dolls, Jonas Brothers "Poned" rings, and Tokio Hotel dolls. Which means there's a home for such baked-with-love homemade goodies like these Lady Gaga cookies.
Baked by some of the good people at ONTD, there's over a baker's dozen Lady Gaga cookies baked in the likeness of some of Gaga's most memorable outfits. They look good enough to eat, yet which to eat first? Bloody VMA Gaga? One of the many "Bad Romance" Gagas? Decisions decisions. The only thing I DO know is that they probably go great with this Lil Wayne cake.
