If you aren't hip to Just Kait, the short version is as follows: teenaged multi-instrumentalist who makes punky, spunky, straight-talking pop-rock; recorded a version of the Parental Control theme song that made its way on to the show itself; is finishing up debut album for release this year.

With her talent at multiple instruments you might be tempted to call Just Kait something of a teen prodigy. But in songs like the kids-are-alright anthem, "Sick," and the glam-rock of "U Suck," she shows herself to be just one of the girls; despite her undeniable talent at playing rock music, she radiates a really nice normalcy.

This same normal, approachable charm is evident in this episode of "The 5." In this chat the singer talks about a variety of pet peeves and unknown talents. Kait enjoys recording songs (like "Hot Stuff" which will be featured in MTV's Turn The Beat Around soundtrack), beatboxing and playing the drums as an act of catharsis. She does not enjoy white socks.  The more you know...

Check out Just Kait's episode of "The 5" as well as the clip for "Sick" below.

Like Keanu Reeves invading a colony of surfer-mystic-bank-robbers, Jason Derulo has been making waves (and, in all likelihood, money) (but not from robbing banks). The R&B singer impressed with his video for the single "Whatcha Say," took that song for a live spin on It's On With Alexa Chung and then went out to see America with Lady Gaga on her Monster's Ball tour.

Now Deurlo returns with another video for another catchy slice of R&B-kissed pop, "In My Head." Produced by the Midas-like J.R. Rotem, "In My Head" finds Deurlo crooning over a rockier sound (think Black Eyed Peas' "I Got A Feeling" levels of rock here).

While the song seems to follow Derulo's frank, honest approach to a girl in a club, the video's action takes place in what seems like the nicest convenience store parking lot I've ever seen.

"In My Head" is the second single from Derulo's self-titled debut album, due out this March.

From the soundtrack to the film Valentine's Day (or as I like to refer to it, I Guess He Is That Into You) we have some brand-spanking new Taylor Swift for you to feast on.

In the film, directed by veteran rom-com helmer Garry Marshall, a ensemble cast made up of pretty much every pretty face in Hollywood (Julia Roberts, Jessica Alba, Ashton Kutcher, Jessica Biel) tries to find love on that loveliest of days, Valentine's.

Valentine's Day pairs Swift with her one time real-life boyfriend (unofficially), Taylor Lautner, better known as the full-moon-fever having werewolf, Jacob, from the Twilight films.

Swift's song from the Valentine's... soundtrack is "Today Was A Fairytale." It's a near-waltzing (math is hard) piece of acoustic pop, filled with typical Swiftian details ("you took me by the hand/and you picked me up at six").

Valentine's Day hits theatres on February 12th. The soundtrack is in stores on February 9th and T-Swiz's "Today Was A Fairytale" is available right this very minute.

Take a listen to a snippet of the song (via Taylor's official site) and watch the Valentine's Day trailer below.

In what must have been a true meeting of the uber-cool minds, Scottish indie rockers Franz Ferdinand and Oscar-winning French actress Marion Cotillard have teamed up to record a song for the fashion house Dior.

"Eyes Of Mars" was written by Franz Ferdinand, who back Cotillard on the song. Made to promote a new perfume by Lady Dior, it's a wistful, smoky, lovelorn ballad song in English by Cotillard, who until now had limited her musical stylings to the screen with performances in the musical Nine and the Edith Piaf biopic, La Vie En Rose.

Honestly, it's pretty hard when someone as blindingly gorgeous as Cotillard sings. It sounds great no matter what. This is a curse that has plagued beautiful French chanteuses from Jane Birkin to Charlotte Gainsbourg. Maybe if they looked more like gargoyles it would be easier to nitpick their performances.

There's a 101 Dalmatians joke somewhere in here but I can't really put my finger on it. Here we have Chris Brown, having a seat at  Vivienne Westwood's fashion show in Milan, rocking some optical-illusion-inducing polka-dot-and-gingham shoes.

The kicks are courtesy of Vivienne Westwood. And I will say this, it is a look. Somewhere between the casual, at-home threads Denzel Washington rocked in American Gangster and Gregory Hines in The Cotton Club.

The intensity of the dots are actually offset by the cut of his gray slacks. Some Hammer-pants-gone-Jazz-Age action right there. Oddly, it somehow kinda works.

Here we have Joe Jonas on the red carpet at the VH1 Critics' Choice Movie Awards on Friday, January 15. If you're a Jonas Brothers fan, then you probably watched the show to see Nick Jonas & The Administration perform "Who I Am" on the red carpet (watch the video below) and perform as the CCMA's house band throughout the show.

Lately the younger and oldest Jonas Brothers have been more in the spotlight with Nick's side project and Kevin getting married. But don't you just wanna thank Joe Jonas for a.) showing up and supporting his brothers, while b.) looking perfect in a grey suit and skinny tie? I think any and all Jonas lovers can agree that there have been times in the Jonas' past where perhaps their suit pants were a TEEEENSY bit too tight in the seams or maybe a few degrees too shiny. (Or both.) But hi, Joe! You're all growed up, and you look like a slice of perfection pie. Thank you for that.

Seems like just yesterday that we were spazzing out, going WTF?! about OK Go's "WTF" video. Well, the Los Angeles-via-Chicago band continue to show their dedication to the music video as an art form with their awesome new video, "This Too Shall Pass."

Taken from their Of The Colour Of The Blue Sky, "This Too..." features OK Go, dressed as drummers in a marching band, performing their song in a field. At around the :45 mark, someone (director Brian L. Perkins, one would think) flips the switch to "awesome."

Horn players emerge out of the ground, camouflaged in grass. The Notre Dame Fighting Irish marching band appears, adding percussion, backing vocals and total elation. Oh, and the whole thing was filmed live. Unbelievable.

Check out Ok Go's phenomenal "This Too Shall Pass" video below.

If you missed the Golden Globes, here's a quick recap: Avatar won Best Motion Picture, Drama, everyone was like OH MAN I LOVED THAT MOVIE when The Hangover won Best Motion Picture, Comedy, Mariah Carey won Goldenest Globes, Penelope Cruz looked like she fell asleep standing up in a spray tan booth, celebs acted like they'd never seen rain before, and many of them looked like they'd never seen food before. So THANK YOU, Christina Aguilera, for wearing an absolute STUNNER of a Versace dress and looking like the best-dressed girl there.

Like January Jones, who wore a similar pastel Versace Atelier deco-inspired dress to the 2009 Emmys, Christina Aguilera brought some old-school Hollywood, blond bombshell bravado to the Golden Globes and more than made up for Drew Barrymore's ode to the coral reef. And Kate Hudson's Marchesa wedding dress, which looked like a series of tubes and envelopes.

Once again, Christina Aguilera proved that she only looks better -- and younger -- with age. Viva la Aguilera!

Katy Perry told MTV News last month that she was "spilling out" material for her One Of The Boys follow up. Working with collaborators like Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo and Tricky Stewart (co-writer of Rihanna's "Umbrella"), Katy suggested that her glossy, punky pop would expand and change.

Well, if it's anything like "If We Ever Meet Again" from Timbaland's Shock Value II, then color us excited.

The fourth single from Shock Value II just got the video treatment, and it features dual storylines. One features Tim making very "Tim" facial expressions at Perry as they perform the song. The other follows star-crossed lovers taking in some Jackson Pollock-y splatter art at a rather shmancy-looking gallery  having a moment of chemistry. There's some subsequent thieving and heisting of jewels and art, until these two are finally reunited.

The real star of the show is Katy Perry, who really looks and sounds comfortable over the hybrid of dance, pop and R&B cooked up by Timbaland.
