It's the most anticipated sequel since Empire Strikes Back or Star Trek II: Wrath Of Khan or when the McRib returned in 2007. It's Lady Gaga and Beyonce, back again, with the video for Gaga's "Telephone."
The last time these two shared a music video, with Bey's "Video Phone," the result was a Hype Williams-helmed monster full of Tarantino references and style for days.
This time around, Gaga's go-to director Jonas Akerlund (who directed "Paparazzi" as well as videos for Madonna, Metallica and blink-182) will be behind the camera, as the heavyweight champs of pop reunite for round two.
According to MTV News, Gaga purposely tried to take a backseat in "Video Phone," deferring to Beyonce and Williams and playing the supporting role as Bey rocked a Bettie Page 'do and played with guns. For "Telephone," Gaga will likely be front and center, "rocking frilly leotards" and "destroyed denim," from designers Franc Fernandez and Oscar Olima.
More tidbits about Gaga and Beyonce's "Telephone" video: "Telephone" will apparently continue the Tarantino-homage, as Beyonce and Gaga have been snapped filming the video in a yellow truck not unlike Uma Thurman's whip in Kill Bill. Also, Tyrese is rumored to be making an appearance.
