While we may have all been ROFL and LMFAO about Kelis' recent fashion homage to the Statue Of Liberty, it doesn't mean we aren't still anticipating her music.
Kelis is hard at work on her new full length, FleshTones, an album that apparently marks a decided move towards the dance floor for the R&B-associated singer. To help her pack for that move, Kelis has enlisted the production expertise of dance music producer/DJ David Guetta.
Guetta, as you may know, was behind former Destiny's Child member Kelly Rowland's "When Love Takes Over," a track that went to the top of the pop charts in England. Now he's sprinkling a little dance-smash fairy dust on Kelis.
Their first collaboration produced FleshTones' first single, "Acapella" (which you can hear at Kelis' official site). It was, to be frank, a ferocious banger, with deep, deep bass.
The latest piece of Guetta/Kelis product is "Scream And Shout," an airy, gauzy piece that glides between Kelis singing sweetly over a piano, until a bubbling beat comes to the surface.
Kelis' FleshTones is due out later this year.
