A couple weeks ago, our bros at MTV News announced a March 7 premiere date for the upcoming T-Pain animated special called Freaknik: The Musical. The hour-long feature is a tender tale of a group of kids who vow to bring back Freaknik, a long-beloved, spring-break block party in Atlanta.

The show also features the vocal stylings of Lil' Wayne, Rick Ross, Snoop Dogg plus non-hip-hoppers Andy Samberg and Bill Hader.

Check out a trailer of Freaknik below and don't forget to watch the musical March 7 at 11:30 p.m. on Cartoon Network.

If Brit-Brit's too-brief appearance at the Grammys wasn't enough to whet your "Toxic" appetite, no need to starve yourself just yet. According to Idolator, Spears is gearing up to release new music this June.

For all those Circus freaks out there, you'll be stoked to hear that Britney is re-teaming with K. Briscoe, part of The Outsyders production team, who penned Spears' comeback hit "Womanizer." Plus, our pop princess is also hooking back up with Corte Ellis from Soul Diggaz, who previously worked with Britney on the songs "Naked" and "Get Back" off Blackout.

Finally, color us flattered that Spears took our advice and decided to collaborate with our fave new French hitmaker DJ David Guetta on new tunes. Ooh, la la!

Briscoe, Ellis and Guetta join a heap of producers who have already been tapped for the project—like DanjaMax MartinDarkchildSean Garrett. Guess it's just a matter of time until we hear whose tracks make the final album cut. Hope we don't blackout from anticipation! (Get it? Blackout? Blackout? I'll be here all night, folks.)

If Rihanna poses for a photo shoot in the woods and no one is around to hear it, does the camera make a sound? Good question. Luckily for us, creative director Simon Henwood has compiled a book full of the pop princess' every fashion move over the last couple years so we'll never have to worry our little heads about missing a beat—or a flashbulb.

Included in the pages of The Last Girl On Earth will be hundreds of images of the "Umbrella" singer wearing a variety of designers (from Chanel to John Paul Gaultier) and posing for a myriad of famed photographers (like Ellen von Unwurth, who shot the photos for Rihanna's latest album Rated R.)

The book will be released June 29, 2010, but if you don't want to "Wait Your Turn," Amazon is currently accepting pre-orders.

Sampling in hip-hop is becoming somewhat of an endangered art-form. How come? Well, it's just too expensive to go around taking Aerosmith guitar riffs (Run-DMC's "Walk This Way") or Led Zeppelin drums (Beastie Boys' "So What'cha Want"). Those days are decidedly gone—or are they?

Enter Philadelphia underground rap duo Chiddy Bang and their insanely catchy new single "Opposite Of Adults." Sure, we love the cut's combination of easily-to-relate-to nostalgic lyrics, courtesy of Chiddy Bang's MC, and the giant, tumbling beat, thanks to DJ/producer Xaphoon Jones. But another reason the song's so great likely stems from an ingenious sample of MGMT's "Kids."

Cut and pasted and re-arranged, the keyboard hook from MGMT's hit sounds fantastic in this hip-hop context and, well, don't get us started on the kooky video. Ever wanted to see large superimposed heads of the Chiddy Bang members on younger, smaller bodies? We'll take that as a "yes."

If you've spent any time listening to either of The-Dream's fantastic albums—Love/Hate and Love Vs. Money—or any of the embarrassing amount of hits he's written with producing partner Tricky Stewart (like Rihanna's "Umbrella" and Jesse McCartney's "Leavin'"), then you must be pretty excited about the impending release of Mr. Milian's upcoming third album, Love King.

One of the reasons why The-Dream has been so successful at making hits people can dance to—and relate to—is because he allows himself to be vulnerable in his songwriting, often singing about break-ups and betrayal in an incredibly humane and empathetic way. That said, it's a little surprising to hear him brushing dirt of his shoulder so effortlessly on his third album's first single, "Love King."

The song definitely finds The-Dream having a "me" day, as heard in lyrics like, "I got girls in the trap/Girls on my label/Girls at the bank, because I'm about my paper." Wonder if wife Christina Milian agrees?

How do I love thee, Vampire Weekend? Let me count the ways. I love thee's zippy cardigan sweaters, thee's lyrics about French Connection and Philly cheesesteaks, and lest us not forget about thee's adorable, baby-faced frontman Ezra Koenig. (Hell, I bet even Elizabeth Barrett Browning would be putty in his hands.)

When I moseyed over to Spinner.com this morning to catch a gander at the band's newest video for "Giving Up The Gun" off their sophomore album Contra, I was given yet another reason to adore the New York City quartet.

Directed by the Malloy Brothers, the clip features Vampire Weekend performing amidst a fiercely competitive tennis match, which boasts guest appearances by Lil' Jon, Wu-Tang Clan's RZA, one of the Jo Bros and—gasp!—Jake Gyllenhaal, sporting the hottest pair of hot pants I've ever seen. Eat your heart out, Reece!

After the pop/rock maneuvers previously found on Timbaland's Shock Value II songs like "If We Ever Meet Again," featuring Katy Perry, and "Morning After Dark," featuring Nelly Furtado, you might have thought the hip-hop super-producer had veered away from making the type of club-rattling, exotic-flute-sampling, dirty-talking R&B that made him a household name.

Well, that's just not true—as heard on the soon-to-be classic Timbaland cut "Carry Out," which reunites the beatmaker with his partner-in-hitmaking, Justin Timberlake.

When you think of the great partnerships in MTV history, you think of Hall and Oats, Lita and Ozzy, Ron-Ron and Sammi (R.I.P.) and, of course, Timbaland and Justin.

Reunited and it feels so good: Timbo and a rapping—yeah, I said rapping— J.T. live it up under flashing neon lights and amidst the love of some very affectionate dancers. The suggestive language in the vid might be a little much for office speakers or church pews, so proceed with NSFW caution. Check out the video below. Shock Value II is available now.

A while back, we checked out Avril Lavigne's latest single "Alice," the lead track from Almost Alice, a collection of songs inspired by Tim Burton's upcoming film Alice In Wonderland. At long last, we get the single's music video and, let me tell you, I'm staring through the looking glass, people.

Okay, not really. (I just wanted to say that.) No, this is your standard, dreamy music video that finds Lavigne maturing both musically and visually. The video for "Alice" casts Avril as the titular character from Lewis Carroll's beloved novel—sorry, Mia Wasikowska—and the viewer follows her as she falls down the rabbit hole, has some tea and plays the piano in a poofy black ball-gown.

Watch the video below. Almost Alice is out on March 2nd. The movie Alice In Wonderland hits theaters on March 5th.

We always knew Butch Walker had some pretty sharp producing skills, having worked on albums with Pink, The Academy Is... and Weezer, but we had no idea his carving handiwork extended beyond the recording studio.

In celebration of Butch's latest solo album I Liked It Better When You Had No Heart, the former Marvelous 3 frontman auctioned off various pre-order packages on eBay. The most expensive of the bunch went for a mere $25,000 and auctioned off the following to one lucky super-fan:

• A signed collector's edition vinyl, CD and lithograph
• An exclusive T-shirt
• A personal Facebook or Twitter message
• An instant download of three new Butch tracks, and... wait for it...
• A weekend in Butch's spare bedroom where the winner will collaborate on a song that will appear on his new album and a chance to play the song live on stage together during Butch's next tour

Now, not many people have $25,000 burning a hole in their pocket—well, not many people except Panic! At The Disco's Brendon Urie, who bid on the extravagant package.

See what kind of American Psycho-esque action happened when the two frontman met up and Butch took an axe to—er, walked Brendon around the Walker compound.
