+ Update: Watch K'Naan and Wale's MTV.com live performance here!

That's a wrap. What a blistering night of hot beats, fly mixes, globetrotting rhythms and serious hip-hop as K'naan and Wale kicked off their tour in New York City at the Filmore East.

Washington, D.C.'s Wale opened up the night with some Go-Go-infused hip-hop flavor. Did you catch that "Amelie" mix? Damn, that was hotness. Emerging star J. Cole joined the rapper for "Beautiful Bliss" and Wale performed hit tracks like "Nike Boots," "Chillin,' " "Pretty Girls" and plenty more.

Global rap phenomenon K'naan followed and gave a soulful set of rhymes, songs and spiritual hymnals, plus some pretty amazing special guest surprised the sold out crowd. Wale joined the poet-artist for "TV In The Radio." Mr. Illmatic himself Nas dropped by for a rendition of "N.Y. State of Mind" and Damian Marley was featured on "I Come Prepared" and "As We Enter." It was a tremendous night.

Don't forget: Stop by next week for more photos and OnDemand performances for all those who may have missed the show (how unlucky of you!). Thanks for all the dedicated fans who stopped by to chat, too. We had a blast.

MGMT, the makers of indelible psych-pop nuggets like "Kids" and "Electric Feel," are back with their sophomore album, Congratulations.

Unlike Oracular Spectacular, the group's breakthrough debut album, Congratulations appears to be a much denser, complex affair -- and if the album's first single, "Flash Delirium," is any indication, then we're in for a long, strange, musical trip.

The clip for "Flash Delirium," as MTV News' James Mongomery has noted, also bares a striking resemblance to the work of Beck, both in its use of zany visuals (i.e. weird costume design and senior citizen choreography) and its drugged-but-funky sound.

Check out the video for "Flash Delirium" below. Congratulations is out April 13.

When Adam Lambert isn't busy hanging out with Boy George or making out with Ke$ha, he's doing what he does best -- performing.

It wasn't so long ago that Glambert visited the VH1 studios and delivered a stripped-down "Unplugged" performance of songs like "Mad World," originally recorded by Tears For Fears, and "Music Again," off Adam's album For Your Entertainment. He even took the time to explain the inspiration behind his newest single, "Whataya Want From Me," as seen in the video below.

For a closer look at Adam's performance, check out our exclusive flipbook and be sure to watch the interview below.

Plus, in case you were wondering, that is former Yellowcard drummer Longineu W. Parsons III banging the skins. I know, I know ... You can sleep much easier tonight knowing that tidbit of information.

Attention, Twi-hards! Your beloved literary goddess Stephenie Meyer has just announced the release of her latest novella, "The Short Second Life Of Bree Tanner: An Eclipse Novella," so mark the following date on your calendar: June 5, 2010.

The 192-page tome will focus on the perspective of Bree Tanner, one of the newborn vampires in 'Eclipse,' who is killed so shortly after being introduced. Some might find it odd that Meyer decided to focus an entire book on a pretty minor character, but there's a method to Meyer's madness.

According to a statement on her official Web site, "I never intended to publish this story as a stand-alone book. I began this story a long time ago -- before 'Twilight' was even released. Back then I was just editing 'Eclipse,' and in the thick of my vampire world. I was thinking a lot about the newborns, imagining their side of the story, and one thing led to another. I started writing from Bree's perspective about those final days, and what it was like to be a newborn."

Now, before you cap that Sharpie, you'll probably want to circle a couple more dates: June 7-July 5. During that period, Miss Meyer will actually be offering the novella for free download on the book's official Web site. Amid all the excitement, try not to tear the head off your Edward Cullen body pillow. Haven't we seen enough bloodshed, people?

Yesterday, Christina Aguilera released the full version of "Not Myself Tonight," the first single from her long-awaited new album, Bionic.

The track was co-written with Ester Dean (of "Drop It Low" fame) and Polow Da Don, whose patented "1-2-3-4" chant is reminiscent of another jam he produced -- Chris Brown's "Forever."

However, this is no bubblegum love song: "Not Myself Tonight" is full of dark-techno voodoo and some real come-hither vocals. Xtina whispers lines like "I'm out of character ... I'm doing things that I normally don't do," drops the F-bomb and talks about kissing boys and girls. Motherhood has clearly not blunted her edge -- and we couldn't be more excited.

Check out the track below (Warning: NSFW language). Bionic is out June 8.

Maybe someone can explain this whole half-shaved hairdo to me. What's the attraction? Do celebs like Cassie and Mel B think they look sexy? I'm sorry to break the news to you, ladies, but you don't. No sexy times for you with this hair-raising coif.

It kind of looks like a horizontal mullet: Party on the side and "Last Of The Mohicans" on the ... um ... other side. Any way you slice it -- or shear it -- hairstylists need to talk their clients -- that means you, Carmen Electra -- out of getting this 'do.

Please, ladies. Think of the children.

+ Carrie Underwood recently made an appearance on "The Early Show" to promote Pedigree's dog adoption drive. The girl is pretty cute on her own, but pair her with a bunch of puppies and the cute-meter starts going into the red zone. (Just Jared)

+ "Wizards Of Waverly Place" star and pop singer Selena Gomez will be forever young -- in wax, at least. The teen star got her very own wax figure at Madame Tussauds in Washington, D.C. (I'm Not Obsessed)

+ If you ever wanted to see Justin Bieber list his favorite YouTube videos while acting as if he was in a '70s kung fu movie, it's your lucky day! (Idolator)

+ One place you will not catch Snoop Dogg is a movie theater for a showing of "Avatar." The "I Wanna Rock" MC says, "I don't want that stuff coming right in my face. The last movie I saw in 3-D ... is 'Friday The 13th Part III.' Jason threw that spear, man. That spear hit me right in the eye, man. I never watched a 3-D movie again." (MTV News)

+ More details are trickling out about the Lady Gaga-themed episode of Glee. According to creator Ryan Murphy we can expect a stripped-down version of "Poker Face" and a full, fashion-crazy take on "Bad Romance." (EW)

+ Madonna and her 13-year-old daughter, Lourdes, are going into business together, co-designing a line of juniors apparel. Apparently, Madge knew Lourdes had the fashion bug when The Material Girl noticed parts of her wardrobe had disappeared, saying, "My Christian Dior shoes will go missing and then some fabulous bag or my skinny jeans -- the only pair that fit me -- are gone." ... And then there was Barbie. Nicki Minaj has released the first single, "Massive Attack," from her untitled debut album, and it's sure to ring some alarms.

For an artist so new to the game, "Massive Attack" is incredibly assured. You get the feeling, listening to the song's air-raid keyboards and thunderous beats, that the Young Money princess really wants to separate herself from the rap pack and carve out a space all her own.

Frankly, with her verbal dexterity, complex flow and humor, Nicki is reminiscent of classic Missy Elliot -- and that's a compliment of the highest order.

Look for the "Massive Attack" video later this week. We promise to let you know whenever we hear anything about Nicki's debut album. It's due out at some point this year.

Usually, when you greet someone, you offer a handshake, a hug or a kiss on the cheek, right? Not The Gossip's Beth Ditto, who said hello to Alpine skier Hansi Hinterseer by popping a squat on his lap.

The two were both appearing on Austria's "Wetten Dass...?" TV show when the outburst occurred. Can you say, "Awkward?" Or, "I've fallen and I can't get up!"

If this eye candy isn't perfect for "Caption This," then I don't know what is. Now throw on your copy of Music For Men, get inspired and take to the comments with your best one-liners. Here are a few to get you in the mood:

+ Are those Spanx under your dress or are you just happy to see me?

+ [Insert inevitable fat joke here.]

+ Quick! She's choking! Must. Perform. The. Heimlich.

I don't know about you, but I'm a sucker for band merch -- and the weirder, the better. I love it when groups get creative and think outside the black T-shirt box. I was particularly impressed by the following wacky pieces of band merch. Start stretching, because you and your credit card are in for quite a workout. Plus, check out more consumer goodness after the jump!

1. Metric water bottle ($14): Dancing up a storm works up quite a thirst. Thankfully, Metric offers these handy -- and eco-friendly -- water bottles so you can hydrate while you express your "Stadium Love."
