Patrick Stump To Play First-Known Solo Show At SXSW

After a revealing interview with Spin.com in February, Fall Out Boy frontman Patrick Stump admitted that he was “not in Fall Out Boy right now,” which cause a lot of Overcast Kids to break out their From Under The Cork Tree CDs and prepare for a good cry-fest.

While the status of the band is questionable — even bassist Pete Wentz took to his Web site to announce “i dont [sic] know the future of fall out boy” — one thing is certain: Stump is far from retiring from music. In fact, he’s just getting started.

The “Dance, Dance” singer is gearing up to release his first funk-tastic solo album and, to celebrate, will be debuting music from it at this year’s SXSW Music Conference. Stump will be performing Friday, March 19, at 11 p.m. at the Dirty Dog Bar in Austin, Texas. According to the conference schedule, Stump will be playing alongside The Young Veins (the new rock outfit from former Panic! At The Disco members Ryan Ross and Jon Walker) and Hole. Crazybrains! For those planning on heading out, I expect a full report!

In the meantime, check out the video below for a taste of what to expect, musically, from a newly svelt Patrick Vaughn Stump.
