Last night's Academy Awards can be described as historic, long, tearful and glamorous. But most of all, they were kinda awkward. Let's relive our favorite cringe-worthy moments from Hollywood's finest.

1. The Kanye Lady
That's what the Twitterverse was calling it when journalist/film producer/apparent crackpot Elinor Burkett interrupted director Roger Ross Williams as he was accepting the award for Best Documentary Short for Music By Prudence. The whole situation is very complicated and, well, very awkward, but if you want to read the whole sordid story, then check out Salon's he-said/she-said blow-by-blow.

2. Kristen Stewart Fidgets, Fusses and Coughs Through Her Presentation Duties
The girl can't help it. Twilight star Kristen Stewart is anti-pomp and circumstance, as proven by any/all of her past media appearances. She stutters, she stammers and she always looks so gosh-darn uncomfortable. So why in the world did the Academy ask her to give out an award? Beats us. Expectedly, she butchered her few lines of teleprompted copy, presenting a montage of Hollywood's great horror flicks by messing with her hair and coughing. Get it together, lady!

3. John Travolta Mistakes Oscars For Casual Friday
Dude, you're a movie star. Life makes so few demands on you, except on the one night of the year when you're expected to get dolled up and smiley pretty for the cameras. It's the Oscars, dummy. Don't. Wear. Jeans.

4. Stand Up Straight, Miley!
Miley Cyrus' new film The Last Song marks her first dramatic acting role, and her appearance at last night's awards seemed like the tween actress' big Hollywood coming-out party. She looked stunning in a champagne-colored Jennifer Packham dress, but she would've looked even better if she had been able to stand up straight. It's called good posture. Look into it, Miley.

5. All The Ill-Timed Cut-Away Shots
From the myriad of is-he-joking-or-is-he-steamed George Clooney reaction shots, to Samuel L. Jackson's eye-roll after Mo'Nique's acceptance speech for Best Supporting Actress, to the blank stares of Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner during the John Hughes memorial montage, someone should have told these folks they were on television. Duh!
