It starts with the beat. You're immediately taken by the vibrant, vital, head-nod-inducing rhythm. Then, before you know it you're greeted with acoustic guitars and the lovely voice of Elizabeth Ziman. We're talking about Elizabeth And The Catpault's "Race You," the awesome single from their album Taller Children.
Well, what we're really talking about is the wondrous video for the song, directed by Foundation Content. Matching the jubilant vibe of the song perfectly, the video tracks frontwoman Ziman as she runs though a maze, trying a variety of doors, leading her into various joyous settings filled with all sorts of childlike innocence. The proceedings take a little bit of twist when a young girl picks up a viewfinder, only to see some performance footage of the Brooklyn trio in concert.
The whole thing feels very stream-of-consciousness — a collage of images that somehow make sense when juxtaposed with the song.
Taller Children is currently available (it came out last week). And if you like what you see from the live footage, be sure to check the band's site for tour dates.
