A week back we unveiled a sneak peek of A Day To Remember's newest video, "I'm Made Of Wax, Larry, What Are You Made Of," taken from their Homesick album.
The preview gave us some clues: We knew there would be kickball, scantily clad cheerleaders and rocking out. But we weren't prepared for this intentionally dorky tapestry of comedy.
The Dan Dobi-directed clip pits the members of A Day To Remember against some fierce competition in the form of some junior high aged kickballers. Add in some sight gags and outlandish characters from the same school of sports jokes as Will Ferrell flicks like Blades of Glory and Semi-Pro, some Michael Jackson dance moves, and some chewing of tobacco, and you got three minutes of LOLs, mosh parts and guttural growls.
Check out the video below. Homesick is readily available, and you can catch A Day To Remember on the Toursick tour through May.
As much as I would LOVE to be the proud owner of a Proenza Schouler PS1 bag in a gorgeous springy teal, I'm blogging on more of a Billabong budget than a Barneys bank account. Still, spring is here, and it's time to dump that stuffy, gloomy gray/midnight blue/black bag you've been toting around all winter (as well as its contents) and spring forward into some cute handbags that don't complement your Uggs. (Wait ... you're not still wearing Uggs, are you?)
Check out six spring handbags — in fun florals, pretty prints, strong shapes and big, bold colors — for under $50 each!

Vita Chambers is another great artist with Caribbean island roots poised to make a big splash this year. Following in the footsteps of fellow Barbados singer, Rihanna, and joining the like of Iyaz and Sean Kingston in the Island Pop movement, Chambers makes Now Music; genre-busting, border-free jams for people who like to keep it on shuffle.
Vita Chambers was born in Canada but spent her formative years in Barbados, raised on her parents' eclectic record collection of classic soul and rock. But it's been the last few years, as the charts have seen hits that freely mix pop, R&B, dance, rock and hip-hop into dance, that she really found her own voice in this dizzying new music world.
Inspired by the likes of Katy Perry, Lady Gaga and Pink, Vita Chambers' music is a pulsating, personal pop, reflecting both her teenage exuberance and her seasoned, diverse tastes. Take her single, "Young Money" a fan's love letter to the music of Lil' Wayne, that's as energetic and boisterous as Miley Cyrus' "Party In The U.S.A." It's the perfect introduction to this incredibly talented teen.
That song, and four others, make up her recently released The Get Go EP. You can catch Vita bringing the dance party sound all summer long on the Bamboozle Festival. Be sure to check out her MySpace to see videos of her playing solo covers of songs by Gaga, Pink and Adam Lambert.

New York City neo-glam rockers Semi Precious Weapons have to been seen to be believed. Listening to SPW tracks like "Magnetic Baby," from their self-titled EP (released this January), is only part of the experience. True, you get to hear the snarling, bratty, punky glam rock, full of nods to David Bowie, T. Rex and The Stooges, but inhaling the entire sensory splendor of Semi Precious Weapons? The glam Gestalt, if you will? Therein likes the true power. Impossibly fit, head-to-toe glam frontman Justin Tranter is a born rock star. And true rock stars all know how to do one thing: work it. Check out the shots from this exclusive MTV photo shoot, and stare in wonder at the various flirty and fangs-out poses Tranter rocks.
It's a sense of extreme, eye-catching style that the band share with one of their closest musical colleagues, Lady Gaga. Truth be told, Semi Precious Weapons gave Gaga one of her earliest breaks when they had her open for them years back. On her way to the top of the charts/world, Gaga's returned the favor by having Semi Precious Weapons open for her and putting them in her "Telephone" video — even if she did kill them off. As Justin Tranter told MTV News, "We pretty much owe our lives to Lady Gaga!" That's friendship for ya.
Anyway, enough about Gaga; more about checking out photos of these dangerously stylish dudes.

+ You'd think one of the most innovative directors in the history of music videos might have some time for one of the artists that's, more or less, keeping the medium alive. But Michel Gondry, who has shot clips for Bjork, Radiohead and The Foo Fighters, has very little time for Lady Gaga. Seems the auteur is not so into the music, and it pretty much kills the videos for him. Says Gondry: "To me it's like a form of Marilyn Manson. It's hard for me to talk about it; I’ve seen a couple of videos of hers, and not for very long. I stop watching them each time because I don’t think there's melodies. I’m sorry to be negative." (Movieline)
+ While Gaga might be smarting from Gondry's showing of the hand, she can take solace in the fact that another, much more famous person thinks she's "really hot." Twilight and Runaways star, Kristen Stewart, recently copped to being a fan, making the somewhat obvious observation, "She's got a look." (MTV News)
+ Possibly the only amusing story involving an overdose you'll ever hear: Foo Fighters main man Dave Grohl recently made an emergency trip to the doctor's office to deal with side effects from ingesting too much coffee. Seems Grohl had too much java while recording for the supergroup Them Crooked Vultures. (Spinner)
+ The budding romance between Demi Lovato and Joe Jonas took a rather celestial turn recently. The two took some time out from saving the world to attend church together. <3 it. (Idolator)
+ A while back Bret Michaels recorded a duet with Miley Cyrus called "Nothing To Lose." We promptly responded with a hearty, WTF? Now the Poison frontman has come forward to explain there's "no weirdness" about the song. (PopEater)

It's Saint Patrick's Day for the love of the Blarney Stone! Some people celebrate by wearing green, some celebrate by drinking until they turn green, but one way to celebrate the Luck o' the Irish that we can all get behind is by giving props to the incredible rich tradition of Irish and Irish-American music.
Ireland and the Irish Diaspora's contribution to modern music is monumental when you think about the size of the tiny island. From Dublin titans U2 to (Boston) Celtic-punks like the Dropkick Murphys, Irish musicians keep on doin' it. So celebrate Saint Patty's however you choose, but be sure you do it with the volume turned up.
To get you started here are five videos, culled from MTV's two excellent Saint Patty's Day-themed video playlists.
+ Check out more St. Patrick's Day videos in MTV.com's Sham Rock video playlist and A Wee Bit 'O The Irish playlist.
+ Dropkick Murphys, "The State Of Massachusetts"
This Boston band broke into the mainstream when their Woody Guthrie-inspired song, "Shipping Up To Boston," acted as the opening credits music for The Departed. "The State ..." is from their 2007 album The Meanest Of Times.
+ My Bloody Valentine, "Soon"
Though not the biggest band out of Dublin, My Bloody Valentine is one of Ireland's most critically-and certainly its noisiest exports. "Soon" is taken from their 1990 EP, Glider.
+ Swell Season, "Low Rising"
There's a lot more to Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova's story than what you saw in the film Once. They may have won an Oscar for their ballad "Falling Slowly," but they continued to record as Swell Season. "Low Rising is from their 2009 album Strict Joy.
+U2, "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For"
A classic from Ireland's greatest band (with all respect due to The Pogues). No other group has done more to spread the Irish music gospel. So here's a gospel tinged anthem from their masterpiece The Joshua Tree.
+ House Of Pain, "Jump Around"
OK, enough with the polite tour through Irish music. Time to kill some brain cells. It's St. Patty's, and I came to get down, I came to get down, I came to get down!

+ UPDATE: Watch Justin Bieber behind the scenes at his MTV.com performance.
I JUST got back from Justin Bieber's live MTV.com performance today (I sang "U Smile" the whole way back to the office), and seriously, it was nothing short of liquid gold. That voice is the equivalent of atomic number 79. But back to the show: It was just me, Justin Bieber (and Dan!), backed by the boys of Legaci, a small group of some VERY lucky fans (freaking out, as one does), and a couple of MTV cameras here in New York City. Highlights included, well, every song he sang, including his new single, "U Smile," "Baby," "Never Let You Go," "That Should Be Me," "One Time" and "One Less Lonely Girl."
You can check out exclusive videos of Justin Bieber's MTV.com performance on Tuesday, March 23, but for now, get an inside look at the performance with these brand-new photos.

Twitter God and Ludacris mentor Justin Bieber is on a roll. I wish I could take him to a craps table and have him just stand next to me for luck. Except that would be illegal because he is 16. In any case, things are only going to get bigger and brighter for the Canadian heartthrob/pop sensation with his new release, My World 2.0, due out this time next week.
We've heard a few songs from My World 2.0 so far, including the shuffling R&B of "Never Let You Go" and the sugary pop of "Baby." Now we get a mid-tempo ballad in the form of "U Smile."
Justin's best songs always have one special ingredient: the juxtaposition of his innocent vocals with hard, hip-hop drums. Even on "U Smile," a piano-driven piece of pop, a solid rhythm still lies underneath.
"U Smile" holds a place close to Bieber's heart, as the young pop pinup recently tweeted, "I wrote it for all my fans who got me here. U took me from a small town in Canada to this amazing opportunity I am living now."
"U Smile" is currently available on iTunes. My World 2.0 is out March 23.

It starts with the beat. You're immediately taken by the vibrant, vital, head-nod-inducing rhythm. Then, before you know it you're greeted with acoustic guitars and the lovely voice of Elizabeth Ziman. We're talking about Elizabeth And The Catpault's "Race You," the awesome single from their album Taller Children.
Well, what we're really talking about is the wondrous video for the song, directed by Foundation Content. Matching the jubilant vibe of the song perfectly, the video tracks frontwoman Ziman as she runs though a maze, trying a variety of doors, leading her into various joyous settings filled with all sorts of childlike innocence. The proceedings take a little bit of twist when a young girl picks up a viewfinder, only to see some performance footage of the Brooklyn trio in concert.
The whole thing feels very stream-of-consciousness — a collage of images that somehow make sense when juxtaposed with the song.
Taller Children is currently available (it came out last week). And if you like what you see from the live footage, be sure to check the band's site for tour dates.

It was really only a matter of time before people started making their own Lady Gaga "Telephone" video props, but we must really tip our fedora to blogger Matt Langer, who put together his own version on the world's most unhealthy eyeglasses/cumbersome hair curlers.
The "Telephone" video has already caused uproar and debate (like any great video should), mostly on Fox News (shocker!). Obviously, we love Gaga and we're no prudes, but if anything in the "Telephone" vid needs a parental advisory sticker, it's the cigarette shades.
First of all ... it's a waste of cigarettes! Those things are really expensive these days! Not that we'd know since smoking is a terrible, disgusting habit that should only be practiced by professional stunt people and prison inmates. Second, as anyone who's had smoke blown in their face can attest, it sucks. So having smoke being blown from your face is the opposite of a good look.
Still, golf clap to Langer who assembled this DIY pair of tobacco glasses. And extra points for the beer can accessory. We always say, if you're going to go, go all the way. Unlike this dude:
