Directed by the incredibly talented Rik Cordero, who was also at the helm of The Clipse's "Popular Demand (Popeyes)," Consquence's "Childish Games" is an audio and visual throwback to the days of hip-hop yore.
Featuring a Notorious B.I.G. sample and dizzy jazz-funk loop, "Childish Games" findsĀ Kanye West protege Consequence rapping in a playground about the trials and tribulations of the streets, drawing parallels between thug life and the games kids play. Later in the track, Asher Roth joins in the proceedings and adds a verse about the wicked ways of the music industry.
The near-sepia tones of the video match the retro sound of the song, but make no mistake -- "Childish Games," which is taken from Cons' Movies On Demand, is a very contemporary song about some very shady dealings.
Movies On Demand is currently available. Check out the video for "Childish Games" below.
