The Spill Canvas' new single, "Our Song," is about a girl with "cinematic eyes," but it would seem, based on the video for the track, that the South Dakota alt-rockers have a flair for the visual themselves.
Taken from the EP Realities, which came out April 12, "Our Song" is a totally infectious love tune. Directed by Meirert Avis (New Found Glory, Paramore), "Our Song," mixes together a performance by the band with footage of a couple in love, rendered in grainy, sweeping, silent film style.
Quick question, what's up with silent films and people being tied to train tracks? That always seems to be a big problem in the non-talkies, right? Was this really such a common occurrence back in the day? You don't really hear about that these days.
"How did you meet your lady?"
"Oh! I found her tied to some train tracks and it just kinda snowballed from there."
Anyway, this new Spill Canvas video is charming, and you'll be humming the song all day. Watch "Our Song" below.
