We're just neo-girl-group crazy over here at Buzzworthy this week. We've spent some time gushing up Best Coast, and now we'd like to introduce you to some of the group's Golden State neighbors, The Like.
Made up of four young California gals -- Tennessee Thomas, Laena Geronimo, Annie Monroe and Z Berg -- The Like makes effervescent pop rock, equal parts Pretenders, Supremes and Ronettes. The combination of buoyant Motown rhythms and Beatles-esque melodies are totally infectious.
And they look good too; somewhere between British mod and Cali chic. They've even caught the eye of fashion designer Zac Posen who signed the girls up to do a dreamy short film for his label, directed by Gia Coppola.
The Like's new album, produced by Mark Ronson, is due out this year. To hear music from the gals, check out their MySpace (we recommend "Release Me"), and check out their Zac Posen/Gia Coppola vid below.
