Ke$ha's "Your Love Is My Drug" is about the addictive, sometimes self-destructive nature of relationships -- the push and pull of a love affair, something you just can't quit. So, OF COURSE, the video features her riding an elephant.
Yep, the "Your Love Is My Drug" video, directed by Honey, features Ke$ha in a desert with a bearded hipster dude, an elephant and a rowboat. Naturally. By the second chorus of this admittedly infectious, bouncy jam, things get WAY trippy, as live action gives way to animation. The cartoon element of the video references everything from the Tom Tom Club's childlike "Genius Of Love" video (watch it below), a touch of Nicki Minaj's "Massive Attack" and The Beatles' Yellow Submarine.
By the end of the clip, Ke$ha marries animation and live action, breaking out her neon body paint look that she debuted on "Saturday Night Live".
What's the result? It's Ke$ha, basically! It's weird, and goofy and maybe corny in parts; but you're probably going to watch it many, many times and end up being addicted to it, no matter what.
