When M.I.A. isn't busy eating truffle-flavored French fries or releasing verbal blasts on journalists for reporting on her eating said truffle-flavored French fries, she's giving fans a look at the cover of her new album / \ / \ / \ Y / \ , out July 13.
M.I.A.'s album cover is clearly baffling and open to many possible interpretations. Instead of waiting for the "Paper Planes" singer to respond, we decided to come up with our own explanations for her graphic stance.
We think M.I.A. decided on the above cover art because ...
1.) She thought she was hiring the son of M.C. Escher to design her album cover, but an unexpected bout with dyslexia caused her to hire a descendant of the guy who invented the Etch-A-Sketch instead.
2.) She never got over her childhood obsession with Lincoln Logs.
3.) She's REALLY into YouTube.
4.) She woke up the morning of the photo shoot with a cold sore on her lip, and instead of covering the facial flare with makeup, she decided to play up her eyes.
5.) There's nothing she won't do to piss off Lynn Hirschberg.
* We have no idea if M.I.A. really has dyslexia. We're just spitballing here, people.
