Jay-Z's "Empire State Of Mind" is an undeniable classic, and it absolutely owned the summer of 2009. But let's be honest. While it shouted out lots of triborough geographical points of interest, it was really about being in a Manhattan state of mind. But in 2007, Jay-Z paid tribute to Brooklyn, the borough that got him born in the Beastie Boys-referencing "Hello Brooklyn 2.0," featuring Lil Wayne, off of American Gangster.
Fast-forward to now. Production threesome Cookin' Soul, who've put their polish on tracks for Soulja Boy, Kanye, Cassie, Nicki Minaj and more, took Jay-Z's "Hello Brooklyn 2.0" and the Quincy Jones classic "Summer In The City" and added some beast black-and-white visuals. Looks like Brooklyn -- it's the New Manhattan! -- just got a new look for summer.
